Stagecoach should put all there services back into Sunderland interchange instead of congestion all the streets in the city centre. If they have to pay to use it then pay. I always thought stagecoach was a so called big company in the uk. Interchanges are for all buses not just go north east n seagulls!!!!!!!

I imagine a great deal of services provided by Stagecoach wouldn't be commercially viable if they had to pay these fees on top of already existing costs of the services.
If we get to keep our services at a good frequency (10 minutes), I'll walk for a minute and a half to get to Holmeside rather than use Park Lane.

Also, ISTR, when the 24 was withdrawn and the 23 upped to every 10 minutes, the rerouting away from the Interchange allowed a reduction in PVR from 9 to 8 yet still provided the same level of service. So I can't see any commercial advantage for Stagecoach to send their Sunderland local services back to the Interchange.

And for me the Interchange is simply not convenient for any of the places that I'd want to go when in Sunderland City Centre, the stops in Fawcett Street, John Street and St Marys Way are far better.
Enviro on the 18 this morning currently heading towards barnes park, pallion etc.
Normaly ran by darts or MAN's.
Noticed a few of the E's were running via Seaburn this morning as normal single deckers, but were returning from Shields on the X34 E400's by this afternoon
South Shields only have 3 Enviro 400s so there will still be some Enviro 300s out in service- not sure on the sunday PVR but its definatly more than 3!
On another note Sunderland's 36084 was being towed back to the depot today i seen it passing the Prospect junction about 2pm.
At about half one in Seaburn, an E1 was being followed by an E6, both deckers. An earlier service had been running not long in front running as a decker too.

As I said, there were only a few which came back as deckers - but went into Shields as single deckers.
Do they have any other deckers apart from the Enviro's?
Theyve only got 3 double deckers- 19194/6/7
During Sunday 14 July 2013, Sunderland City Council will need to temporally close the southern end of Fawcett Street and the west end of Borough Road to facilitate essential roadworks associated with the Borough Road highways improvements scheme.

Last Updated : 28 June 2013 12:10

On this occasion, Borough Road will be closed between Back Fawcett Street (west side) and John Street, and Fawcett Street will also be closed at its southern end, as far as Athenaeum Street. This closure is to allow for highways surfacing and road marking works.

This closure is scheduled to be in place during Sunday 14 July 2013, between approximately 0800 - 1800.

During the periods of this road closure, Stagecoach buses will be diverted as follows:

Southbound Services 3, 4, 13, 16 and 23 will be diverted from Wearmouth Bridge to operate via St.Mary’s Way and High Street West. These services will temporarily observe the westbound bus stops outside Marks and Spencer’s and at Londonderry Hotel, and will be unable to observe their normal bus stops on John Street, Holmeside or Green Terrace.

Northbound Services 3, 4, 13, 16 and 23 will be diverted from Priestman Roundabout/ St.Michael’s Way to operate via High Street West and St.Mary’s Way to Wearmouth Bridge. These services will temporarily observe the eastbound bus stop opposite Londonderry Hotel, and will be unable to observe their normal bus stops on Green Terrace, Vine Place, or Fawcett Street.

Westbound Service 5A will be diverted from West Lawrence Street via Sans Street, West Wear Street, St.Mary’s Way and High Street West. This service will temporarily observe the westbound bus stops outside Marks and Spencer’s and at Londonderry Hotel, and will be unable to observe its normal bus stops on Borough Road, Holmeside or Green Terrace.

Eastbound Service 5A will be diverted from St.Michael’s Way to operate via High Street West, St.Mary’s Way, West Wear Street to High Street East. These services will temporarily observe the eastbound bus stop opposite Londonderry Hotel, and will be unable to observe their normal bus stops on Green Terrace, Vine Place, or Fawcett Street.

Westbound Services 10 and 11 will be diverted from Tatham Street via Borough Road (east side), Sans Street, West Wear Street, St.Mary’s Way and High Street West. These services will temporarily observe the westbound bus stops outside Marks and Spencer’s and at Londonderry Hotel, and will be unable to observe their normal bus stops on Borough Road, Holmeside or Green Terrace.

Eastbound Services 10 and 11 will be diverted from St.Michael’s Way to operate via High Street West, St.Mary’s Way, West Wear Street, Sans Street and Borough Road (east side) to Tatham Street. These services will temporarily observe the eastbound bus stop opposite Londonderry Hotel, and will be unable to observe their normal bus stops on Green Terrace, Vine Place, Fawcett Street or Athenaeum Street.

Service 20 will be diverted from St.Michael’s Way to operate via High Street West (taking layover near the Empire), St.Mary’s Way to Wearmouth Bridge Roundabout, then St.Mary’s Way, High Street West, then normal route to Pennywell. Buses will temporarily observe the eastbound bus stop opposite Londonderry Hotel, and will be unable to observe their normal bus stops on Vine Place or Fawcett Street.

Northbound Services E1, E2, E6 will be diverted from Priestman Roundabout via St.Michael’s Way, High Street West and St.Mary’s Way to Wearmouth Bridge. These services will temporarily observe the eastbound bus stop opposite Londonderry Hotel, and will be unable to observe their normal bus stops on Fawcett Street.

Southbound Services E1, E2, E6 will be unaffected by this closure on Sunday 14 July.

Clearly, whilst we will be endeavouring to operate all services in accordance with their published timetables, as well as continuing to liaise with our colleagues at Sunderland City Council to mitigate any problems, due to the increased mileage required to operate via the diversionary route, there is the potential that some trips may be subject to localised delays.

Stagecoach would like to apologise for any inconvenience these highways works by Sunderland City Council may cause, and we remain grateful for customers’ patience and understanding.

Hopefully after this the roads are back to normal. those temp traffic lights, hate them so much!

Info for the airshow has being posted on the stagecoach site..

On Saturday 27 July & Sunday 28 July 2013 special Service 510 will run every few minutes to the Airshow.

Last Updated : 5 July 2013 12:16

Due to road closures and the level of traffic congestion experienced in previous years, bus services in the Seaburn area will be revised between approximately 1030 – 1830 on Airshow days. Some buses will also be diverted in the Seaburn and Roker areas on Friday 26 July due to other road closures.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On Friday 26 July 2013, from approx 1400, Whitburn Road and Roker Terrace on Sunderland Seafront will be closed to facilitate events associated with the Sunderland Airshow.
As a result of this road closure, Services E1, 18 and 19 will have no option but to divert via Fulwell Road, Roker Baths Road, Roker Park Road, Park Avenue, Sea Lane and Seaburn Terrace. As a consequence, buses will not be able to serve Roker Avenue, Harbour View, Roker Terrace, Park Parade or Whitburn Road (south of the Seaburn Hotel roundabout). Diverted buses will observe all stops along the line of the diversionary route. In the event of the Sea Front closing before 1400, these arrangements will start when the road closes.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

On Saturday 27 July & Sunday 28 July 2013, special Service 510 will operate every few minutes during the day, providing a frequent and direct service between Sunderland City Centre (Fawcett Street), Wheatsheaf, Stadium of Light Metro, Seaburn Metro and Sunderland Airshow (Recreation Ground).

Due to road closures and the level of traffic congestion encountered in previous years, bus services in the Seaburn area will be revised as follows on Saturday 27 July & Sunday 28 July 2013 between approximately 1030 – 1830:

Services E1, E2, E6 South Shields – Sunderland: Between 1030 and 1800, Services E1 and E6 will operate between South Shields Market and Seaburn Camp (Whitburn Bents Road) only. During these times, Service E2 will operate via normal route from South Shields to Whitburn and then run via Front Street, Moor Lane, Sunderland Road, Shields Road and Newcastle Road. Please note, during the affected times northbound Service E2 buses will observe the bus stop outside Fulwell Grange Hotel on Newcastle Road, not the bus stop on Charlton Road.

Buses will operate to normal times on the sections of route which continue to be served. On Sunday 28 July 2013, there will also be an increased daytime timetable, with Services E1, E2 and E6 all operating every 20 minutes.

Additionally, on both dates, to avoid difficulties caused by indiscriminate car parking, Service E6 will not serve the southern section of Lizard Lane but will operate instead via Kitchener Road and the A183 (Coast Road, Mill Lane and East Street).

In the event of the Sea Front closing before 1030, buses affected before that time will operate via normal route from South Shields to Whitburn and then run via Front Street, Moor Lane, Sunderland Road, Shields Road and Newcastle Road. Thereafter, the arrangements detailed above will apply.

Service 18 Grindon Circle: Buses will operate via normal route to Station Road, then via Dene Lane, Dykelands Road, Princes Avenue, Sea Lane, Park Avenue, Roker Park Road, Roker Baths Road, Gladstone Street, Fulwell Road, Roker Avenue, Church Street, then via normal route. Buses will not serve South Bents Estate. In the event of the Sea Front closing before 1030, this arrangement will start when the road closes. Please note, Service 18 will not operate on Sunday 28 July.

Service 19 Grindon Circle: Buses will operate via normal route to Roker Avenue, then via Fulwell Road, Roker Baths Road, Roker Park Road, Park Avenue, Chichester Road, Sea Road, then via normal route. Buses will not serve South Bents Estate. In the event of the Sea Front closing before 1030, this arrangement will start when the road closes. Please note, Service 19 will not operate on Sunday 28 July.

Service 23: On Sunday 28 July, this service will operate via its normal Sunday daytime route to Dovedale Road, then via Dykelands Road, Princes Avenue, Sea Lane and terminate on Chichester Road. Buses will return via Chichester Road, Mere Knolls Road, Dykelands Road, Dovedale Road, then via normal route. As a result, buses will be unable to serve Seaburn Seafront. Please note, Service 23 will not serve Seaburn Airshow during Saturday 27 July, terminating as normal in Dene Estate.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Clearly these routes could also be subject to further change upon instructions from the police or due to additional road closures. For more details, please call Traveline on 0871 200 22 33
Whilst we will endeavour to minimise any disruption, Stagecoach would like to apologise for any inconvenience this event may cause, which is due to circumstances beyond our control.
I have to i wish stagecoach would run the 18/19 on the Sunday for the airshow, they would make good money on these!
Disruption to Services 8, 20, E1, E2 and E6 during Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 July 2013 Service Update
On Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 July 2013, Sunderland City Council will need to temporally close High Street West, close to the Londonderry Hotel. This temporary road closure is to facilitate ongoing utilities works associated with the St.Mary’s Way highways realignment scheme.
Last Updated : 11 July 2013 10:29
During the periods of this road closure, Stagecoach buses have no option but to divert non-stop via Livingstone Road, resuming normal routes at St.Michael’s Way.
As a consequence of the diversion, Services 8, 20, E1, E2 and E6 will be unable to serve their normal bus stops near Londonderry Hotel, or near Sunderland Empire. Customers are therefore advised to use the previous bus stop on St.Mary’s Way, outside Marks and Spencers.
Clearly, whilst we will be endeavouring to operate all services in accordance with their published timetables, as well as continuing to liaise with our colleagues at Sunderland City Council to mitigate any problems, due to the requirement for buses to mix with general traffic on the diversionary route, there is the potential that some trips may be subject to localised delays.
Stagecoach would like to apologise for any inconvenience these highways works by Sunderland City Council may cause, and we remain grateful for customers’ patience and understanding.
One for the camera, methinks!
Presumably 14671 will see use here, as it still retains the long defunct CSS South Tyneside branding.
Sunderland's Reserve ALX200 Dart 33101 is heading up Hylton Road, Sunderland, out of service. I assume she has been unusually allocated to service 20 today, and if this is so, expect her on the 0728 working from Pennywell, arriving at Sunderland 0747.
Typical Sunderland Council..
Minor change to Services 10 and 11 from around early-August 2013 Service Update
With the opening of Borough Road to two-way bus movements (expected to be around 12 August 2013), customers for Services 10 and 11 heading towards Hendon and Grangetown should make their way to a new bus stop located on Borough Road, outside Jameson’s.
Last Updated : 10 July 2013 17:1
With the opening of this new bus link, Services 10 and 11 will no longer be required to operate via Fawcett Street or Athenaeum Street, and this reduction in mileage will assist operational reliability for customers.
Basic frequencies continue unchanged, with both services running up to every 15 minutes during Monday to Saturday daytimes, and up to every 30 minutes during evening and Sunday periods
Being put back again!!!! haha
33101 is on the 19s today and the bus that does that 0728 run starts the day at Fawcett street at 0619
I should refer to timetables in future Wink
If she's on the 19s, I'm confused as to why she was going up Hylton Rd dead!
You'd have thought it would have went up Chester road, and then turned left at the Hastings Hill
That's why I assumed the 20 and just timed the next departure without looking at the timetable to see if it was the first run or not. :p
Timetable is finally up for the CS2 South Shields Shuttle, commencing 22nd for Summer Season.
33484 was on the 5 today (Sunderland), A decent rare in Sunderland!
I would expect it to have been replaced once it got into town due to the section between the town and the docks is secured by nexus. Last time i seen an enviro 200 taken off the 4 to replace a bus on the 5
A couple of interesting workings at present on Teesside, and they are:
16833 on the 37 (1633 from Stockton High Street North to North Tees Hospital) - it should be replaced at some point on its way to James Cook
16835 on the 36, replacing 24102
Didn't even know 37 was an odd allocation! I got a photo of it in M'bro. :-p
The Olympians are on effect not allowed on the 37 past Park End due to Marton Station bridge being too low.
Rare one in Newcastle today, 12068 was on the 18 this afternoon.
Most Sunderland services are running as 2's because of congestion at St Marys and on Homeside/fawcett street area road works... nightmare
22494(think it was not sure) has broke down at southwick, engineer is there
