I do not know what will happen to 22021 though. That will either go to Slatyford or Stockton or will stay in Sunderland.

Straight swap gas buses for the non DDA's, as there's only 15 to replace, was just thinking about what the other 8 gas buses will replace

Out of the MAN's and the 4 darts they're is:

22021,22072,22073,22074,22075,22076,22077,22078,22079,22080,22081,22082,35155,35156,35157,35158

Michael, there is currently an allocation of 27 MANs at Sunderland
15 Non-DDA, 12-DDA.

The 15 Non-DDA compliant vehicles will clearly be wiped out with the arrival of the GAS Buses, together with a further 8 out of 12 of the DDA Compliant vehicles (220xx) tallying 23, so at least 4 of the 220xx will have to be retained to make up the current balance of 27.

I do wonder however whether 6 of the 220xx batch will be retained at Sunderland in order to release & replace a couple of 351xx Darts to Hartlepool to replace the two lost reserves 33488 & 33492. Clearly something is needed otherwise why send 33101? in the first place.

As for the rest, they will probably end up at Stockton, so that when the bids go in for Next year, Stagecoach NE can say we have 12 non-DDA vehicles at Newcastle (Slatyford), that need replacing.

Just to add Michael, if you have a look at the Busways (Inside) Fleet Card PDF. The non-DDA compliant vehicles are highlighted in a light yellow background.

The 351xx Darts I think (without looking) are 06 plates (8 Years Old),
33101 is still running & is 16+ Years old, so I think the Darts will be around for a while yet. Though as mentioned I would not be surprised if a couple were transferred to Hartlepool.

Thanks, =)

Should be good by end of next year when all the depots should be DDA also least most of the buses in the SC fleet will be Enviro and Gas by then =D
As has been reported elsewhere on the Forum today, specifically Stagecoach (Fleet News) Stagecoach on Teesside's (Stockton Depot's) 25 x Brand New ADL E300s 27157 - 27181, are scheduled to be delivered to Stockton Depot during September & October of this year.

However, I have seen & heard conflicting reports with regards to a Specific issue with these vehicles, so felt the need to investigate further & got a response this afternoon.

With regards to the 86 x E300s on order for the Stagecoach UK Bus Fleet this year, Numbers 27101-27186, but in relation to my specific question regarding the vehicles for Teesside (27157-27181), I have had it confirmed, that these vehicles will be powered by Euro 5 Engines & NOT Euro 6 units, though Stagecoach do have a number of vehicles On Order that are Euro 6 specified.

Therefore, the vehicles heading for Teesside 27157 - 27181, will be of exactly the same specification as those used at South Shields on the E services,( i.e exactly the same as 27723 - 22740). I hope that clarifies the situation.

The limited number of Euro 6 units/vehicles being bought, is due down to cost, as I gather at this present time, the difference in price between a Euro 5 specified vehicle & that of a Euro 6 specified vehicle is an additional cost, of around £20,000.
I can't seem to find the correct category to speak about this even in they bygone area but here it goes...

Is anyone able to tell me what the Stagecoach routes in Darlington were prior to their demise in 2007? I remember the 25a/b and that is all...

Below are the routes listed in the Bygone era although I suspect that the list is non-comprehensive. (BTW - The links to the timetables are down for whatever reason Huh)

17: Darlington - Memorial Hospital
20: Firth Moor - Market - Whinbush
24: Firth Moor - Market - Branksome
25: Red Hall - Market - Branksome
26,26A: Red Hall - Market - Springfield
26: Morton Park - Town Centre - Harrowgate Hill
74: Neasham - Town Centre - Teesside International Airport
X90: Newcastle - Metrocentre - Darlington - Richmond

As I'm not from the Darlington area, I'm not really familiar with any of the routes above. However, I do remember service X90 which I occasionally saw in Newcastle throughout the 90's. It was usually allocated a coach whenever I saw it.

Just a minor update to the above, 22485 (T485BNL) was broken up for spares, with the remains being sold to Alpha Recovery, Weetslade for scrap.
More roadworks on Green terrace in Sunderland, not sure why they don't just close both sides of the road to do the work!

Temporary closure of Green Terrace, affecting Services 5A, 10, 11, 16 and 20

On Sunday 18 May 2014, Green Terrace will be closed for highways remodelling works.

Last Updated: 07 May 2014 10:54 AM

Sunderland City Council have advised that this closure is scheduled to be in place between approximately 0700 and 1600.

During periods of the closure, buses will be unable to serve their normal Green Terrace bus stop. Customers are advised to use the previous bus stop along the line of route, which is located on Holmeside.

Clearly, whilst we will be endeavouring to operate all services in accordance with their published timetables, as well as continuing to liaise with our colleagues at Sunderland City Council to mitigate any problems, there is nonetheless the potential that some trips may be subject to delays.

Stagecoach would like to apologise for any inconvenience these works by Sunderland City Council may cause, and we remain grateful for customers’ patience and understanding.

Services Affected: 5A, 10, 11, 16, 20

Think it was on 4s this evening.

Probables be early morning, evening and Sunday times which are altered.

Still haven't got info for the changes on the SC Sunderland ones for the 22nd July.. i emailed SC and still haven't replied
Any Sign of 33101 going back to south shields after its loan spell at Hartlepool. I hear we are getting two new buses in July 37143 & 37144 is that right. Regards Robin
Most of the SC Sun services are running in 2's and sometimes in 3's.... within the last 15 mins, theirs being 3 number 12's and 3 number 3/13's.
(09 May 2014, 4:39 pm)AIG20 wrote [ -> ]I've just seen an E6 go past (heading towards Sunderland) which is 10 minutes late, or early!

I know when i posted it was "rush hour" but all the buses seem to of being running together due to the crash on the A19.. which of course effects all the roads near it

So that might of being 1 of the reasons
(09 May 2014, 4:51 pm)AIG20 wrote [ -> ]33101 might return to South Shields, or be withdrawn, when Sunderland's extra 23 Gas Buses arrive. This is because there is a possibility of Pointer Darts 35155 - 35159 being cascaded to another depot, such as Hartlepool, when they enter service. I really doubt 33101 has long left since it is "the last one standing", even though it is apparently taxed until December.

It's been fully transferred now to Hartlepool. Only way it comes back north is if it gets preserved.
Why not give us one of the 35's from sunderland insteed of 33101 if its not coming back to south shields. Regards Robin

Wonder if anyone will buy it :p

The company should preserve it as the first low floor bus!
Could somebody please tell me where in Newcastle the 100 terminates? And the amount to the Metrocentre? I'm just really useless when it comes to Stagecoach.

£2.30 single/£3.80 return.
£0.60 child single with POP card/£0.85 child single.
It terminates on Blackett Street, the stops at Pilgrim Street and Central Station.

Cheers, Tom Smile. I'm planning on having a day where a fit in a few Stagecoach journeys as opposed to the regular all-GNE days out I have, so I'm just working out a few times and prices.

Thats not a bad price

To preserve the first low floor bus in it's company, I'd say that's a great price. Perhaps, if it does make it to preservation, they can paint it into the original Busways livery and it may attend NEB&CSs in the future.
