Any particular reason for the ongoing allocation of a Streetlite to those services at Redcar? Seems strange that it's started all of a sudden, after a long run of not allocating them elsewhere. A trial, perhaps?

I'm suprised the correct allocations have lasted this long. This is Redcar we're talking about.

Oh, I missed out that the 64 board it's on today starts with a X3a.
Likewise the 63 1569 worked on Friday does the X4 duplicate.

Their manager has apparently suggested they don't want to leave one sitting in the yard - hence using it every day. It gets used on one of the extra Sapphire runs which are on 63 or 64 boards. Surprised they put one out today mind given DB delegates were around at Redcar...!
Must have been two Streetlites come off 5s today as there was 10 out from start of play but 1512 appeared mid morning... Saw 1552 coming back to depot at 1310ish

Kind of makes sense in a way, but potentially results in normal specification vehicles being allocated to the "Sapphire" services in the event of a vehicle changeover taking place when 1440 (NK10 CFA) is also allocated elsewhere.
The downside to branded spare vehicles, I guess!
1513 has just replaced 1405 on the 1 at Faverdale and is currently heading to Bishop Auckland
MAX E400 on 34, 7518 replaced a broken down bus at Ashington, which in turn 7518 failed in the stand, 7519 is now on the X21/X22.
1307 and also 2852 are on max service X26/X27 today along with 1416
Also either 1510 or 1511 are on sapphire service 7
7518 is back on X21 and X22s.
7519 is back on standby

A number of the runs I saw today had unhealthy sounding buses on them , do you think Ashington are going for full Sapphire allocation over making sure buses are mechanically sound?
