Just hopped in the 22.42 21 ex Newcastle.
Standing room only to the Angel. The previous two services were full. People still left at Gateshead
Sure Sunday service on Good Friday will be fine...no demand is there

Something to do with the match maybe?

Well that's my point. Likely to be even higher demand on a Good Friday

Are Newcastle at home on Friday?, not a fan so don't know.

They are. It's a sellout top. Last night was about 4k down on capacity
Right then, lets have a prediction on the so called delays then!
GNE:
1/1A= 30 minutes
21= 40 minutes
X1= 30 minutes
10/10A/10B = 15 minutes (up to 30 minutes on the 10)
45/46/47 = 30 minutes
12/12A = 10 minutes
309/310 = 30-45 minutes (or more with demand for Spainish City as well as traffic in Seaton Sluice for chippies, could rise if a number of 306/308s are no shows which will be likely if Tynemouth is busy as well as traffic the 308 will have to face)
56 = 15 minutes
57 = 15 minutes
58 = 10 minutes
27 = 15 minutes
ANE:
306/308 = 30 minutes (Jesmond / Blyth can regulate if needed)
X10/X11 = 15-20 minutes
X18 = 15-30 minutes
X21/35 = 30 minutes
X22 = 15 minutes
X7/X8 = 15 minutes
43/46/52/53 = 15-30 minutes
44/45= 15 minutes

I hope you are not encouraging people to go to Harbour View, the queues on Good Friday are bad enough to start with

From what I remember, Ashington are usually pretty good at regulating the X21/22 and 35 on a Sunday or Bank Holiday when things start to run late. If one gets anywhere near +30 then they'll send something to cover the 35 run.
GNE have confirmed football specials will run as normal tonight.
Fairly badly advertised until today and still not that clear on the website

Its been on the Nexus website since Tuesday and on the GNE website news section since March

You must wonder why Altoonative travel aren't publishing better details?

When i asked GNE when timetables were published they advised,that the wouldn't be running,
Judging by anecdote, I wasn't the only one told this
Well, I seen a Jesmond 308 running 30 late as a VDL Pulsar then getting put onto the 43/46/52/53.
I also seen an X22 running 15-20 minutes late.
My 309 was 15 down as a result of the 308 above.
21 failing miserably today. Running in 3s Newcastle bound and packed
Though on a plus they are all hybrids
Edit 6066 running with Gateshead destination

The steamed-up windows from the miserable weather must have obscured your vision of the two diesel pretend-rids out on the 21/X21 today (3962/65)! Jimmi needs to introduce you to the "What's annoying you today?" thread!

I had to wait on over twenty minutes for a twenty one today. I decided to take the bus to newcastle rather than drive. Should have just took the car.

I always use real time information to my advantage when going out for buses now, especially when the weather isn't too good.
Sometimes Go North East's app isn't the best for this, but the information tends to feed through to Google Maps without issue the majority of the time. The reliability of both seems to have improved significantly at each depot where the new ticket machines have been rolled out to, as well.
This wouldn't help Ambassador with a bus being full, though!
I can't drive today due to alcohol intake last night. Can't be bothered to get the bus either

Haha, I'll stick with branded angels!
Genuinely surprised by loadings today considering weather. Maybe time to reconsider Sunday pvr.
On a plus I used the 28 and got the C&C Streetlite and it handles the route really well. Would be a great fit. Though the emergency exit door rattling was a little irritating.
Is the 50 allocated double deckers on a bank holiday, I think I am right in thinking it has previously when it was Chester-le-Street operated. I apprecite todays weather isn't going to encourage peole to go to South Shields.

In the past, the depots appear to have made a call based on the weather. There shouldn't be anything stopping Washington doing similar, as they have more than enough deckers standing around during a Sunday service. Unless the 5 route prevents this? Low bridges etc.

I think 5 and 50 are standalone on Sundays and the isn't any low bridges on the 5 the usually at least 1 double deckers allcatoted daily on the 5/50

I'm not surprised - we left the Metrocentre at 1-ish and the car parks were completely full with people stalking spaces like they do in the run up to Christmas. not exactly beach or barbecue weather, so what else is there oto do but the Northeast national pastime of shopping?!

Nout stopping Decker's being sent out on 5's, No low bridges on route.
And aye the 5 and 50/50A are standalone on Sundays.
Looks like GNE will be running the X1 on a 20 minute frequency during the day on Good Friday.
Great move and hope more service follow with 'special' bank holiday timetables.
Well Stagecoach must be doing something right. I just had a ride around Sunderland and plenty of buses were quite busy (yes it's a bank holiday, but still), only saw one bus that was empty, and that was because it was closely following another on the same route.
GNE have been hammered with delays today, there is definitely more late running services than on time services today
From my experience today most GNE services seemed to be quite busy as well.

GNE seem to be driving passengers away from their buses today, with the level of late running/lost mileage. They always seem to have similar issues on Bank Holidays. Surely an apology to customers for the poor service should be posted on their website.
Taken out of context, but just a couple of weeks ago they said:
"Work continues to rebuild passenger numbers across our network......."
".......it is only right that services are adapted to efficiently meet new patterns of demand".
"We have analysed our services in great detail........."
