If I start at 8am, I am up at 5am and out the door at 6am, in town by 7am, grab a Greggs Breakfast from Haymarket then jump on the X7/X8, whichever one it is at 07:12am, in work for 07:30am, giving me enough time to log on to the multiple programs I have to log into before starting at 8am.

So is not common on the 35A?

*shrugs shoulders*
Thats the usual working, I've only seen it off route once when it failed on the 35 then reappeared on the Sapphires later on.
664 was on the X20 on Thursday and given the board it was on was presumably on there on Wednesday as well given it started the day on the first X15 to Berwick and back to Alnwick (which I'm guessing is worked from the Alnwick outstation rather than sending a bus light from Ashington to Alnwick).

Back on 35 on the Friday. On the same run as I posted above...

I'm usually on whatever operates the 7:24 from Newcastle, so the 9:20 from Ash to the Toon ;
The disappointment when I miss 7524 by one run is annoying, as I realised on Friday afternoon! Everything on it works, every other vehicle seems to be a Pick 'n' Mix!
Had a day the other week with 7524 in the morning, and the wonderful 7505 in the afternoon, was bliss
(17 Oct 2015, 8:35 pm)Jimmi wrote [ -> ]Hate the Darlington 5/5A, takes far too long to get from Darlington to Newton Aycliffe these days, think it's totally silly that it's timetabled to take 34 minutes to get between these two points, it should take 31 minutes tops, you nearly always end up sat at timing points for what feels like forever. Got the 18:00 5 from Darlington Town Centre this evening and I couldn't help but think that I could have gotten the 7 which left 3 minutes before the 5 and despite having to walk home from the nearest bus stop for the 7 I could have gotten home nearly 10 minutes earlier rather than been shaken to death on 1426 at Newton Aycliffe Town Centre for around 5 minutes! [emoji34]
What changes would you suggest? I know the 5/5A don't take the most direct route but it serves the purpose.
(18 Oct 2015, 10:20 pm)MrPottski wrote [ -> ]What changes would you suggest? I know the 5/5A don't take the most direct route but it serves the purpose.
My only real gripe with the 5/5A now is the timings, think it could do with an extra minute or two to get from Bishop Auckland to Shildon as when I get it from Bishop it often arrives in Shildon 2 or 3 minutes late and I think is the main contributing factor as to why I feel this service isn't as reliable as it should be. Another thing that really infuriates me was the decision to mess with the timings around the start of this year where they took 3 minutes out from the Shildon - Aycliffe Town Centre section of the route and slotted them 3 minutes into the Aycliffe Town Centre - Harrowgate Hill? section of the route and the Aycliffe - Darlington stretch of the route really didn't need extra time and the result is when it is on-time you are in for the most painful journey ever because it takes far longer than it should, even the drivers who take a slow and gentle approach to driving and wait at all the timing points will still manage to get to Aycliffe Town Centre 3 minutes early. Honestly have no problems with the route the service takes, even the recent diversion to run past Hitachi, it's just the timings I think could do with being looked at more closely.
And while people are saying they want to improve services in darlington, darlington is at a stand still this morning, there's ROADWORKS between HARROWGATE HILL and COTHAM MUNDERVILLE ( one for jimmi to complain about
) roadworks at great burdon, and also roadworks on woodlands road
So basically getting in and out of darlington is a night mare, the 09:00 service 5 finally got in to darlington at 09:45 just one example of how late they are

Oh lovely! Any ideas what they are doing on the A167 and how long for?
This is why I miss the 16 running to Newton Aycliffe because you could avoid all the roadworks on the A167.
Please keep me updated about these roadworks as I've looked online and can't find any mention of them anywhere.

Just been informed it wasn't roadworks on the A167 it was due to a broken down Scania at Harrowgate hill club that caused all the traffic this morning, roadworks are still on A66 for three months and also on woodlands road

Months after withdrawal, MPD's 1750, 1796 & 1797 (with yellow wavy lines painted around them) are still lying in the yard at the back of Blyth Depot.
