(30 Mar 2016, 1:18 pm)tyresmoke wrote [ -> ]All makes logical sense. I understand it's the 8 non-Max interior B7/ALX that are going to Yorkshire. Logically they'd be allocated to Castleford who's 189 service (PVR 7 if I remember right) is going Max, freeing up those Tempos  Idea - that would allow Castleford to transfer 8 of their Lowlanders to Selby, replacing the B9s to come to us. They're due to be refurbished as I understand it before use on the X20 and X93. Durham would gain the 4 Max B7s from Ashington & the new 4 (7423-6) to make a PVR of 7 on the X46.

With the 48 interworking with the 46, will it too be marketed as a MAX service?

7485 is today at Selby depot as just had it on 476's
Been told this morning by a fitter at Selby that the 1800's from Selby are going to Redcar in exchange for the B7's as can't manage hills around Whitby
Frequenta 64 is coming...

Nice to see a bit more route branding from Arriva, but hopefully they'll address the reliability issues with the 64, at the same time.

Easy way to fix that, stick someone at the Arnison Centre and ensure the drivers depart on-time, last time I went to the Arnison Centre three 64's in a row pulled onto the stop AFTER the departure time, first one resulted in me being stood at the front of an MPD like a moron for three minutes on the 62.

Branding certainly won't address peak time capacity issues which I previously had to face on this service.
1808 on the X93 today.

What time was this taken?

Your guess would be incorrect.

As I posted yesterday just one has moved as a trial - though the initial info was wrong and it is 1808, not 1810, at Redcar. It's on the X93 today as posted by Ian above.

Should be on the 17:25 Scarborough - Middlesbrough journey. I shall be sampling it on said journey.
4710 broken down in M'bro.

Has anything came of the transfer of the Optare Tempos from Yorkshire?
I decided to sample 1808 (YJ08EEM) for a full X93 journey between Scarborough and Middlesbrough.

Have to say, I think it performed pretty well on the route, seemed to not too bad at getting up the hills round Robin Hoods Bay, a definite improvement on the Volvo B7's. There was a few interior rattles but other than that it was a nice place to be I thought, just a pity that if we do get them they'll be MAX'd meaning the fabric seating which I thought was quite comfortable will be replaced with e-leather which isn't as comfortable. I should stress that it was a rather quiet journey with light passengers loadings, so the performance may differ in the summer with higher loads on-board.

I hope we do get these, think they'd be a welcome addition to the summer X93's and X20's.

I should point out that these Olympus were actually new with Leather Seats and were retrimmed back in 2012 not long after they moved onto the 202/203.
Just a thought, would the Yorkshire B9's be more suited to the X18, and put the X18 E400's on the X20? (Unsure how many are going where, however, so that probably won't work in reality)

At a guess, 8 due split presumably 5 at Ashington and 3 for Redcar. So not really, you'd still end up with an E400 on the X18 in the summer anyway.

Are 7486/87 staying in the north east?
