It was only getting a window frame repaired.

3866 floating around costa del lobley hill oddly, have a flickr up tonight!

That's alright then haha. Today was the first time I have seen it for myself as I never saw it while it was on the 20/20A and I must say, it looks really nice (not even the destination looks bad considering it doesn't have any via points!)
As noted on the news section, 5441 was delivered today. This marks the final Wright Streetlite to be delivered to Go North East, and indeed the final vehicle of this financial year's order to be delivered! An overview of all 52 vehicles ordered this year is available
here.
Go-Ahead's financial year ends on 2nd July 2016 - have we all put forward our '2016/17 Order Predictions' suggestions in the relevant thread yet?

Why have they got 5440/1 purple ?

Not for the 2015/16 financial year, no. Can't see any more new vehicles entering the fleet until early next year (Omnidekkas from Brighton not included)

Very smart photograph! The blue works so much better on this than the orange.

Thanks
There would have been a nice photo of a Durham Diamond Citaro in Edmondsley to go with it but Flickr decided to delete it!
Yeah, I have to agree on the blue being a nicer colour, thought this blue looked nice when I recently saw it on the MetroDecker demonstrator.

Because 5438 and 39 are read

I it is because they are fitted with tachographs so they have decided to put them at the end of the batch and make 5438 and 5439 the red spares instead.
V327LGC on X70, it's nearly dead.
A whole 10mph and huge black smoke clouds, smells awful.

That doesn't sound good, Turbo or the Tourque will be out if its only doing 10mph, and it sounds like its badly overheating too.
Or was it doing very high revs? Could be that it has a sticky gearbox, Which is when the gearbox refuses to change gears unless the driver puts up a fight with the pedal.
6030 was having acceleration issues on Tuesday, too. The issue seemed to be reported as we had 6009 on the afternoon (unless it was allocated out in service instead).

It was hanging at the very bottom of a gear and was incredibly loud. I don't think we'll be seeing much more of this bus anymore!

In my eyes I would have 5440/1 red but no go north easts logic for ya
I saw Cobalt Clipper 6103 along Askew Road this morning, is it going to Riverside for something?

There is a reason for it - #gnelogic is correct!

How ? Explain this but why not the end of the batch
has anybody noticed the recent changes between GNE and Stagecoach.
with service 33A withdrawn between silksworth and Morrisons and stagecoach starting a service between silksworth and morrisons on service 12. and GNE pulled service 36 out of Town end farm and southwick and stagecoach withdrawing there high freq service 4 from durham road, maybe it looked like GNE and stagecoach had sat down at the same table planning the changes.
#conspiracy theory

Why does it matter? If they allocated the last two fleet numbers, then people would twist that the registration marks aren't in sync.
There was a logic behind it when you could work out the reg based on fleet number, but you can't do it with modern registration marks, so it's irrelevant in my opinion.
(10 Jun 2016, 7:52 pm)Ryan99 wrote [ -> ]How ? Explain this but why not the end of the batch
IIRC, the logic is that the BP branded buses get the 2 Euro 6 examples and not the red spares. And also that the taco'd buses are at an end of the fleet numbers, even if it isn't the usual one, because that bit got missed on initial preparation and despatch.

I may be missing something but I'd think it's more useful to have the taco's in the spare buses. By the very nature of being a spare it's better to be equipped for any duty rather than being confined to the PBs. Also if GNE wanted to sample the euro 6 on a different route it would be useful if it was corporate liveried.

5438-5441 were originally going to be all Euro 6 but this seemed to fade away and all vehicles are Euro 5.

It's pointless trying to raise a debate if there is no actual point to it, and you begin to slag the company off for no reason at all.
I learned that the hard way....

I've always wondered why the new vehicles fitted with a tachograph must be branded - and it's not a question I've actually asked!
Thinking back to 6084 moving over to Riverside as a result of service changes last year, if 6100 had received the tachograph in build instead, the cost of a repaint could have been avoided.
Sure there'll be good reason.
