Not that uncommon to say its rare I'd say, Happens at least once or twice a week. One of the generic branded 373's is normally on everyday.

Yes, the ASDA bus has been taken over by Stagecarriage to allow Stagecoach to withdrawn the double-deckers now that the school services are finished (however they may be kept a little longer as spares)
