Pulsar's no doubt, from my observations at least, it seems to be a fairly common occurrence to see Omnicitys on other services such as these whilst Pulsar's fill the void on 85/685's.

Gutted I missed that, was the 35 out of Morpeth after 1581. It came into Ashington as I was waiting on 7503 to depart on my X21, so I would have made that connection

Had 1501 on the 2 today and you wouldn't think it was much older than a Pulsar, cracking bus! I wouldn't have liked to been on the 2 with a MPD/Solo though as it was very busy, same with the 1.
7466 was on the 1 today too.

7466 was on the 1 today too.
Was it 1401 you were on? as 1501 is a Pulsar. Do agree though that a bus of that size is more suited to the 2 as most times it easily fills an MPD and can become overcrowded.
