Are there just the 3 that were photographed currently at Heysham Docks at the mo or are there others there also?
I think there was 3 spotted at Wrights too, (2 blue, 1 GNE)
Off topic - but 8338 has gained a rear advertisement, I think it's something to do with fostering.
A Red Kite Streetlite came into ESBS about 5 minutes ago NIS and has just left again NIS

Buses from the Stanley today are going onto 21s later in the day. 6133 will leave Newcastle on 21 to CLS as 2115.
There are now only 2 B9s on the 6s.

A 21 does, however, arrive at Newcastle from Chester-le-Street at 2110, setting it up perfectly for the 2115 departure as there are no other services leaving Eldon Square at that time. I have followed the times back and it works fine suggesting that this arrival is operated by a B5LH.

Ah that makes sense now - I thought the 2115 was the first 21 it did.
Had it been a B5 that did the 20:36 from Chester-le-Street it wouldn't have had anywhere to go other than light back to Chester-le-Street which seemed strange when there was a possible journey that it could operate. Looks like the B5 i followed the times back for ends its day on the 19:45 from Newcastle arriving at Chester-le-Street at 20:22.

I have a feeling the bloke driving the 21 I'm on hasn't driven a decker in a long while.
I'm not sure whether he's getting a bonus for hitting kerbs.
Lovely friendly bloke...unusual for 21 drivers
Is working on Boxing Day for drivers a voluntary overtime thing or is it a case of if the depot is open you may be rota'd to be working?
(26 Dec 2016, 4:20 pm)thetravelman wrote [ -> ]Is working on Boxing Day for drivers a voluntary overtime thing or is it a case of if the depot is open you may be rota'd to be working?
It's voluntary - most drivers will be on around double their ordinary hourly rate for working today. For some drivers, it'll be more than double, other drivers it'll be less (depending on their normal hourly rate). There is an additional enhancement to the rate of pay, for working late evening/night shift.
Dan where is 9099 going after it's been on the TEN?, just wondering as you said this on your photo of it.
"The vehicle's whistle-stop tour of Go North East's depots is set to continue towards the middle of next month, when its trial period on "TEN" services 10A/10B is completed. After a final trial at a further depot, the vehicle will be returned to Optare".
We knew it would be trialled on 4 services...4 months, 4 weeks on each.

Yes i know that, i was just asking where it'll go next.
Thanks Dan, just wondered with more depots starting to open on Boxing Day!
Good to hear that those drivers that do choose to work, receive enhanced rates of pay.

I'd have thought you'd be more likely to hit kerbs if you were used to driving double deckers then drove a full size single decker, as a single decker wheelbase is longer. If you were used to single decks then drove a decker you'd be more likely to pull out further than necessary when turning left. Surprisingly I found the longest version of Solos to be the most difficult to corner as with the wheels right at the front their wheelbase is longer than many single deckers.

Been on:
Red Arrows (Washington)
Angel (CLS)
TEN (Riverside)
Would most likely end up on following:
Northerns or Red Kites (Stanley)
Fab Fixty Six (Deptford)
Cobalt Clipper (Percy Main)

The shot prior was slightly off, horrible flare. The latter shot, the fog lights just flipped off and there was an omninous mist...

Not a bad shot in my opinion. Least you aren't going around posting half of a blurred bus and claiming you're a brilliant photographer.

Hee-hee - and Washington Galleries!
Let's face it... Nobody's going to be around at that time of night on a Boxing Day to enforce the law!

Got in trouble at Galleries, Park Lane and Middlesbrough Bus Station in the space of a week, quite sad considering I had a clean record before that. Did get asked what I was doing in Manchester Airport Bus Station but was allowed to continue.
Park Lane and Galleries was the same day!
