I by comparison noted loadings (to the best of my ability - the tinted windows on the Omnilinks make it difficult!) on Friday morning at Gateshead Interchange whilst I was working on other buses, and found there to be no more than five passengers on each bus.
Granted, it seems to be doing as well as the X36 already, but you could get on the X24 and buy a weekly ticket on special offer for roughly the same price as a single on the X36, last week... So passenger numbers doesn't exactly equal profit!
There's obviously a whole host of other things which come into play too - the Omnilinks are heavy on fuel, and also seem to be providing a heavy weight on the engineering budget at Sunderland at the moment!
It'll be interesting to see how it works out for Stagecoach. I'm still a little sceptical about there being a market for that service, but Stagecoach are (usually) good at giving services time to grow, even if it isn't a very good picture being painted at the moment.

Think it depends on the time of the day too, it's now the 2nd week so hopefully more people know about it now.
Doing better than the X36 already?, that's not good although the routes in Sunderland City Centre, Gateshead and Newcastle give competition.
Gateshead is mostly GNE too so i don't think Stagecoach will get many passengers from that area tbh.
I'm not keen on the tainted windows too.

On paper they have transferred from East Midlands to Transit, but are being donated to two local schools.

The annoying thing about the tinted windows is being unable to actually see what the passenger numbers are like from the outside.
35172 is now in Hartlepool and out on the 3 today
27506/10 have now joined 27509 in service at Stockton.

Maybe the extra bus for the roadworks as I think they were having trouble getting 34401 on the road.

No they're for internal transfer, would assume Slatyford, heard nothing to suggest otherwise.

Thats what i was thinking
19217 has been repainted, having lost it's Homesense advert.
Seen 27508 at the back of wheatsheaf earlier, just been painted, should be off to Stockton soon.
24003 was going in to the work shop too.

Hope its better than the ones so far! Rarely see more than one out in a day. Must be why 22012/7 are still on the road.
apparently another kinetic is to enter service

, about time, it seems to be taking them ages to get them out on the road.
Edit: It's 22509

I was under the impression there are another 4 still to enter service.

a lad called lee said that SF56 FKM is entering service tomorrow. I asked if there are anymore but he doesn't know anything yet about the other 3
Finally tried the X24, enjoyed it.
Certainly preferable comfort wise over the Metro (or the Nothern pacers) and light years ahead of the X36. The seats really are comfortable.
If you can get the emergency exit, the legroom is superb! Those seats also have car style aircon vents which were very welcome as it was so bloody warm
I found the interior a little too dark with those heavily tinted windows and The Omnicitiy felt a little sluggish at times, particularly on hill climbs.
Journey time and the central location of both stops was a plus. There were 15 of us from Newcastle and 6 from Sunderland (tho this return was the 4.07 so expected it t be quiet)

Yes 22509 has entered service today, it's allocated onto the 32/32A for today. 22508 is the next nearest one ready for service, and is under preparation.
A rather surprising piece of news I've just seen on a Facebook group is that Walkergate depot have Wright StreetDeck demonstrator SL15ZGP which will be allocated to service 38 from later in the week, believe it's to see the difference in fuel consumption between the StreetDeck's and the Enviro400 MMC's.

An MMC will be allocated onto the 38 for direct comparison while it's here, which should be a fortnight. Service 38 drivers have been receiving familiarisation on the MMCs the past week.
i doubt stagecoach will buy any though seeing the boss owns the rival company

It's out on the 38 today.

I understand the first CitySightseeing Trident has been branded up, this being 17645.
The Stagecoach training bus is out today, the B10m?
It's just parked up at the bus stop at top of Hylton Retail park (coming from the Queen Alex bridge)
