What? Spend money? No chance and god help them keeping new drivers when they will only be earning a maximum of £9/hr for years to come.
Picked up a leaflet for the Whitby Park & Ride service today and just noticed that it advertises audio visual announcements. How long have the P&R buses had these? (providing they do actually have them).

Fitted for last summer's season on the Park and Ride service.
June 2016, according to our fleet list.

And they actually work, although i would say that the volume is inconsistent. The 'The next stop is' is much quieter than the actual stop name. It felt like i was being shouted at

Cheers, couldn't remember hearing any mention of announcements for these services but do remember a possibility of NSA's for the X93 which hasn't happened.

Arriva have installs coming up on 5 Redcar buses in the next fortnight or so, I heard today.
Possibly could be these B9s - though not sure about what's happening with the sixth bus?

1438 is on loan to Darlington depot today, it's out somewhere on the 1/5/19 circuit.
EDIT: We think it's the 09:05 5 off Darlington Town Centre.
Arriva have a Cross Pennine Scania at Hexham Abbey today (10am–12pm) while Stagecoach have an Enviro 300 in Carlisle City Centre (10am–4pm).
This is to promote the new integrated ticketing between both companies which came into effect from yesterday. Lots of freebies and giveaways, plus bird of prey demonstrations at the events.
4660 is the bus Arriva is using for today's promotional event

Don't see any problem with using phones while parked at bus stops but this one was driving along texting for 10 minutes, or so it says.
1438 has now returned to Redcar from Darlington as 2832 is now on 3/3A/3B
4664 has moved to Ashington and been on the X20 for the last few days, presumably freeing up a MAX decker to be used on the summer extra X18.
Am I missing some point or something to this advert? The 6, 56 and 86 don't go to or anywhere near Darlington!
Anyone know what the assorted Darts parked up at the back of Redcar are? 1738 and 1739 were there, but there were at least two more unidentifiable.
Cheers!
Had this sent by a mate earlier, all vehicles at Stockton with NSAs now feature announcements for all Sunday services - whether that's means all routes is yet to be confirmed

I needn't go to Middlesbrough or Redcar for these, seem as they keep ending up on my doorstep!

Why have they do that

Because Whitby are apparently short of minibuses. Several off the road.

Although having said that they have used full size buses on the town services in the past.
