Give it time. Trust me!

As for advertisers getting priority, why shouldn't they? Having the brand plastered on every inch of the bus isn't going to generate any more money. Most of the adverts on the buses at the minute are Arrivas own on the Nearside and Offside (yes due to the design of the buses emergency exits very few buses have these now). The rear ones are mostly providing awareness for a cancer charity HONK. So why shouldn't they have advert boards over branding?

The 306 branding has world's biggest MAX sign on the other side which you have failed to mention. It's not like it's on the front, side, back,  probably plastered with branding on the inside too and the fact IT'S A DIFFERENT COLOUR. I think anymore max plugging and arriva will be buying the copyright for the word!
I think it's absolutely absurd to have advert boards over the branding.

They've had 7 years to do something with the Temsas and haven't done anything yet so they can't be that anxious for advertising space - and as you say, Arriva's own adverts are in a lot of the boards.

They all do it. GNE has rear boards that cover the Coaster branding.
They wont be replacing the headrests where the old branding is, for the near future at least.

"Welcome aboard this Arriva Premium service 22 to Newcastle. please disregard any 'Sapphire' branding. Next stop is Regent Centre" Tongue

Sounds good do you know how old the tempos are?

I think it was Alex Hornby in one of the magazines commented about advertising on buses.  The advertising brings in minimal revenue to companies, but if that space is so valuable to outside companies, surely it's valuable to the company itself?  Why not use the space to promote your service, fare information etc.  The one which is bugging me atm is the Shell V-Power adverts and Arnold Clark cars?  You don't see Asda trucks advertising Morrisons, so why are buses advertising cars?  They should be encouraging people onto the buses rather than getting a new car.  Rant over Smile

Well said.

And at the very least if you're going to have advertising on branded vehicles at least design the livery to accommodate it. That Darlington Pulsar with half the Max covered looks ridiculous.

I think the adverts should only be on the non branded buses, go north east seem to be putting fewer and fewer ads on there buses hopefully arriva will follow.
Jesmond's Streetlites have been partly debranded.

There was an E400 MMC in Ashington depot when I passed earlier...

YX17NNO. 7541-52 IIRC.

Logical to continue the numbers on from the last batch of Enviro400s, but they're not leaving themselves much wiggle-room for future orders in that fleet number series!

Yeah, always found the Arriva numbering a bit too tidy for wiggle-room. Be a case of leaping the VDLs probably into the 77**s. *twitch* !

On another note, believe the first couple of Yorkshire Tempos are due imminently for storage/repaint.

Potentially a case of Arriva not anticipating any more E400s when they started to get the VDLs?

Certainly a contender with heavy Wright investment. Suppose it was easy to pencil in the E400 at 75** and the VDLs at 76**.
With the ex-Yorkshire Tempos, their Yorkshire numbering (1300-1312) sort of fit in to the NE system... before the Belmont Darts. Even with the addition of the Tiger ones if that ever to happen.
YX17 NNO - 7541
YX17 NNR - 7543
YX17 NNT - 7544

Are the fleet numbers displayed inside the vehicles.

7543/4 must have been the two delivered this morning then.

That's correct, they had arrived about 30 min before I arrived.
4 Tempos have now arrived at Durham, 2 to go.
They're only getting six?!
(29 Jun 2017, 3:26 pm)Cock Robin wrote [ -> ]They're only getting six?!

The Tempos delivered today were:

1307 (YJ09 EYL)
1309 (YJ09 EYO)
1310 (YJ09 EYP)
1311 (YJ09 EYR)

1308 was supposed to come but had a few defects to fix first.  So it'll either be 1306 and 1308 that come up later in the week, or 1308 and 1312

They should enter service pretty soon, with 6 Solos transferring to Blyth - I'm assuming 2810, 2811, 2814, 2817, 2818 and 2819.  Although they might keep 2811 as the spare for the 49.

The Tempos will enter service on the 56/57/57A apparently, directly replacing the Solos.

Weren't they supposed to replace E200s on the 64 which were then going to replace Solos?
(20 Jun 2017, 4:50 pm)Jimmi wrote [ -> ]Hasn't that always been the case really though? Seems like most of the MAX branded buses have been designed to accommodate advertising boards (Darlington Omnicity's and X93 don't seem to have any though), single deckers only tend to have them on the nearside now owing to the positioning of the emergency exit door on the drivers side, meaning it's normally just a large MAX logo on this side.

I've never understood why operators dont use a similar method to the one First use (the York Solars/Eclipses as an example) to advertise.
Middlesbrough Frequenta 27/27a launch now confirmed for next Wednesday (5th July).
Spotted a 17 plate Enviro on the A174 near Middlesbrough today around 10 am. Conditions were bad but could make out Y?17 ???

Will be one of the ones destined for Ashington, Id imagine the delivery route from Scarborough ( Where the bus was manufactured and registered ) will be over the moors via Whitby and down the A19.

This is correct, I'm told by one of the drivers who were part of Wednesday's convoy that all would have been delivered by today.

This may sound stupid but 1306 - 12 is 7?
06 - 1
07 - 2
08 - 3
09 - 4
10 - 5
11 - 6
12 - 7

So surely 2811 will be going aswell or does that mean Yorkshire are keeping either 06, 08 or 12?
