I don't think a pvr would be a reason for not receiving new vehicles. Happens all the time where stagecoach have allocated 2 or 3 from an order. Shields were given 2 14 plate darts couple years ago. A joint order for the e's and x34 perhaps?
Kind regards
Chris

I've often wondered why they haven't made much of a tactical move on the 'E's', in the way of upgraded vehicles.
When we visited the Stagecoach depot at Stockton for a 500 Group committee meeting the other night I was surprised to see a staff notice instructing drivers to under no circumstances drop off at stand 10 or 12 in M'bro bus station but to only use stand 11.
Stupid that. Really annoys me when you're on a bus and it queues up behind others, blocking the bus station, waiting to drop off on Stand 11. When I worked at the bus station they were told to drop off at the first available stop and Arriva still seem to do that, which makes sense.

35195 doesn't look like it will be transferring to C&NL now, also could be a rethink about which ones go green to Kendal.
Has the gas bus double decker entered service yet?

Still on driver familiarisation/testing today. It's here till the end of August.
Don't think it's mentioned here but the Sunderland north estates day rider is getting replaced by Sunderland day rider on Sunday. The best one will cost £3.65.
Ignore me. The date in effect is 29th April!

Is it just going to be allocated to Sunderland or have Shields managed to wangle an agreement.
Could it be used by Shields then refuelled at Sunderland or would that be a waste of resource?

I haven't heard anything positive out of that attempt since it got knocked back, so I wouldn't think so. Be a bit of a hassle regardless, not so much the trial, but Stagecoach putting a new gas facility at Shields? Hmm!
80036 will be on the last X24, was on the penultimate one from Newcastle.

Not sure Michael, had a tip off it could be on the last tonight so not too sure if it will be on the same board everyday. I will see the first two tomorrow in Newcastle en route to work, so will post if I see it, if someone doesn't!
Not like me to plug, but...

Thanks. Hopefully not, it'll be daft if its on the last X24 everyday.
Would think they would want it on from around 8am to late afternoon so more people can use it.

If its going to be at Sunderland till the end of August I hope they are going to trial it on some of the other routes aswell as the X24. Although I did overhear 2 drivers talking on the X24 yesterday something about all drivers are getting trained and I think they said the Omnilink's in case one was needed to go out onto the local routes.

Come on Dan, we all know it won't last 5 minutes on another route, they don't cope on the X24 route haha.
The X24 needs better buses but the service isn't making a profit, as of yet, according to someones post on here the other day.
I do hope the decker will go on the gas routes in Sunderland.
Only way Sunderland would get deckers would be drop the likes of the 16, 20 to every 15 minutes.
Less buses on the route but made up with extra seats on the deckers... Won't happen at all though.

You're implying that all three Omnilinks would be road worthy Dan
If they've got any sense they'll use the time wisely to overhaul them, more than they already have!
Well that would make sense to do that while they've got a spare, although I defiantly herd something about all drivers getting trained on something. Quite surprisingly all 3 were out all day yesterday
0815 off Newcastle this morning 80036.

Although far from scientific, my anecdotal evidence suggests this board is the one that tends to have a spare on.
Seen it umpteen times over the last few months and it very rarely has an Omnilink offering.

I've always thought the usual board allocated the spare bus is the third/last to leave the depot. On every occasion that I have used the 07:47am X24 from Sunderland (or 08:50am return from Newcastle), it has been a gas bus.
Of course, it's not uncommon for two Omnilinks to be missing at once.

Reported on Facebook that it was the 0955 from Newcastle.
