Couple of teething problems this morning, including 6310 breaking down.

6084 was out this morning.
Covering for 6310?

Or maybe for 6311/ 6314 which haven't arrived yet
Two X9/X10 boards were no-shows whilst I was trying to get photos on Teesside earlier, took me 90 minutes to get some photos of them (got 6045 during this 90 minute wait).

Aye. They look good haring along the A19.

Even better that they're not in a layby with their hazards on. Might actually dare to start traveling on that service again.

Ok, spoke to osoon.

Again, maybe GNE should have allowed a bit more time for (i) receiving and (ii) testing the buses before launching the service last week.  Surely two no shows on a 30 min headway can't be promoting the brand image that GNE are aiming for!
How many are out today

Possibly.
That was my initial thought, until RBZ mentioned the breakdown.
Has the new buses for service X9/x10 got a brand and a brand name?

The five I saw all turned up, but three of the five were old ones.

No brand name really, just X9/X10. I think the body design looks much better in this livery than in some others, incl the Streetdeck demonstrator,
My sightings:

11:00 X10 from Newcastle - no show.
11:15 X10 from Boro - no show (3964 is now on this board, 14:45 X9 from Boro)
11:30 X9 from Newcastle - 6309.
11:45 X9 from Boro - 6045.
12:15 X10 from Boro - 6313.
13:45 X9 from Boro - TTX B9
14:15 X10 from Boro - 6308.

So the 1100 from Newcastle - did that operate as Cock Robin seen it leave on the 1245 from Boro?
Driver on 6046 said 4 are off the road already at Eldon Square, so guessing that there’s just one running as 2 haven’t entered service yet, not good PR for GNE

Okay, I have no clue what happened with that 11:00 X10 from Newcastle then, attached is the area I was waiting for the B5's to appear in, it's possible another route was taken to Norton (possibly A1027 then High Street) but every time I've ever done the X10 it's gone past the area I've highlighted and was unaware of any other potential routes into Norton.[Image: fe8a96f3616e27ea04868647a47b7e96.jpg]

Not really - 2 are not even here, and currently 6310/6312 are in the depot.
So anyone know how many are in service right now, typical of this to happen the one day I’m coming to Newcastle

You don't buy a television expecting it not to work from day 1.

6310 was used all Saturday night and all day yesterday without a fault, and as we all know, faults can just happen.  I cannot see what the difference would be having a bus running round for weeks, sooner new buses are put on the road the better imo.  The other 3 seem to be operating fine today.

I've had an X10 at least once come via Norton Green when Boro bound, though we are talking a few years back.

It was definitely a TTX. I was doing a video but can't play it back as I don't have a camcorder with a working touchscreen at the moment!

Saw a TTX heading out of Heworth towards Newcastle around 11:10. I think if was on an X9, so I wonder if that was the 11am no show, assuming the services still interwork at ES.

They only interwork at Middlesbrough

I think we’ll just have to agree to disagree if you really think this shambles represents a well executed relaunch of the service.  Relaunched 3rd Sept, new buses supposed to arrive a week later (ludicrous in itself) and even with that extension, only three of a PVR of seven were covered by the new buses, and reports of missed journeys on some of the other boards.

I totally agree. And I WOULD expect a new tv to work from day one!
