Forgot to mention something that happened on Saturday, which was pretty out of the ordinary.
A load of buses approaching the High Level were stopped at the very last moment by police.
Left idling, they eventually sorted themselves out (including reversing in to the Bridge Hotel car park and made their way to the Tyne Bridge.
At least one bus (X1) omitted Gateshead and operated via the Gateshead fly-over to Old Durham Road.
Quite an unusual sight/experience!

There was someone on top of the bridge.

Further complicated, later, by the Tyne Bridge being briefly inaccessible.

6319 looks decent, but again, until you get to the back, which just looks utterly ridiculous. More unhappy people stood up on the back of the bus, and what's with the two black parts which come all the way down to the bumper? Makes it look as though The Angel logo has been stuck on as an afterthought.

What about the seat coverings?
It just needs a Graeme Murty mask on that headrest!

Looks very cluttered, and I agree with the Angel vinyl looking like an afterthought. Still think Arriva's route 'maps' on the back of their Sapphire vehicles is one of the best ways to go regarding putting stickers on the rear of the bus.
Pleased to see they've returned to the destination with via points though.

Not just Arriva who do that, the majority of the recent Go North East brands have a route map on there too:

I think, in this case, a route like the above was probably the best to take. While I understand what they are trying to do with the pictures, I think the execution could have been better (ie making the bus seem like a pleasant environment, rather than a cramped one that involves standing).

Arriva just sprang to mind being from an Arriva dominated area.
I think, had they gone for the route 'map' (such as those in the picture), they could have kept the old roller blind-esque displays, on the rear at least. I agree with much of what has been said regarding the pictures, I don't enjoy standing up on a 5 minute journey into the city centre, never mind (what could potentially be) Durham to Newcastle!

Seen 2 streetdecks in Low fell I'm guessing they were heading for Chester-le-Street depot
