7425/6 are to remain at Durham once the summer season starts. Rumours abound that 7424 is also to move to Durham for a third Gemini from Durham to work one of the Summer X93 turns (still leaving Redcar a decker or two short however)

I was told that Pulsars will replace them from Darlington initially, as the X12 University Contract is due to end following the planned closure of the Teesdale Campus - which presumably means the X12 does not need as many double deckers?

Indeed, Durham Uni are moving everything back into Durham so they want to end their contract with Arriva early. This will enable Arriva to move the DDs off the X12 and replace with single decks. This enables newer double decks to transfer to Redcar/Whitby for the Park & Ride and X93.

So does that mean that 2 of the MAX spare Pulsars 1406/1415/1416 could move to Durham for the X12 and keep it as MAX Branded
4801 has now had its rear advert for Feethams removed

Meanwhile if there are any updates which we've missed, anyone with knowledge of what has happened and when is more than welcome to submit a news suggestion:
http://northeastbuses.co.uk/news/ - see the top box.

This will come through to the moderators to approve before going live, and then we can update the fleet list afterwards with this information.

Information about Arriva is not often posted on the public domain unlike Go North East and to a certain extent Stagecoach, so difficult to keep a fleet list up to date.

Why do they need to take the DDs off the X12 just because the Uni is moving? It doesn't stop GNE using DDs on various routes. Arriva are skinflints.

Presumably as the free/discounted travel for Durham University students is being withdrawn, the passenger footfall will decrease significantly to the point where twin-deck vehicles won't be viable on most journeys.

Exactly that - the loadings on the majority of journeys will be capable of being handled by single deck vehicles.

X12 is a funny one tbh,few times ive saw a single decker leave packed but then the next one after that being a DD leaving barely full, weather it was just down to the time of the day i seen them.both who knows
Is there a reason why Jesmond struggle to get the right bus out on the right routes first thing in the morning? This morning there was a Cross Pennine on the 43, a Sapphire on the 54 and a Sapphire pulsar on the X16 all before 7.30am and this seems to happen fairly regularly. I can understand with the traffic issues for this to happen later in the day, but seems strange that early?

One of these is now registered NK67EDP - the other is still unregistered.  No fleetnumbers applied yet.

In fact 3 are.
Other 2 are NK67EDL&NK67EDO
The two in Faverdale yard are now branded. They are 1604/5 but as yet, only 1604 has its plates uncovered - it’s NK67EDL.
Next stop announcements for sapphire 7 have now been update and re uploaded or at least 7534 has

NK67EDP is 1606.  1605 still has plates covered.  1605/6 are both now branded.
