Today I saw 1525&1527 Gemini 2s
(I believe it was them 2) and it got me thinking. As the 308 was a max route or still sort of is i wonder if that could mean they are getting new buses? This could then leave the Gemini 2s to Replace older Gemini 1s.

There have been shortages many times over the years with drivers borrowed from other depots. It seems most companies are suffering problems with staff retention. It is a difficult job with very tight scheduling, reduced terms and conditions for new staff,a much more customer focused role [being the referee between pushchair and wheelchair users as highlighted by posts we see] a very complex range of tickets. On top of this there are customers which are highly prized by the management who not only cheat wherever they can but complain about the driver if caught out and can be very aggressive and intimidating. I have worked in the industry since 1973 and seen many changes but would not take this up as a career under the current situation. In Darlingtons case it was considered as the "problem child" when Mr. Knox became M.D. and the manager was changed many non customer focussed drivers left or were sacked the fleet was upgraded. The depot became depot of the month many times with top results so should be a great place to work and somewhere that drivers would want to work. So why do they not stay? My opinion is that the day to day operational roles e.g. detailer and traffic officers are still the same and from experience I have to say they were the worst I have ever worked with

This makes me feel so good - being blamed for the issues at Darlington. Beaten from all angles when I am literally killing myself working endless hours trying to cover work.

At present 1424 and 1508 to 1511 are remaining mostly for the 8. I suspect one will leave when 4813 returns to service
IMAN Ecocity 4813 which suffered major rear End accident damage last year returned from body repairs on Thorntons low loader today to Darlington and was promptly dispatched to MAN at Stockton

Definitely a contender for the 'Angry people in local newspapers' fb page.
What is lacking, is a photo of 'er in doors' standing at a stop, looking angry.
I like that it doesn't include any details about when the next bus came. Highly likely he was the run before running very late, and knew there was a bus just behind.
"told her not to bother" complaining for a free ticket? Definitely seems off.

I suspect that these two will be the ones allocated to the Whitby Park & Ride from Easter so will probably be there for repaint.

I suspect in exchange for 2602/3 somewhere along the lines, so they can return back to Jesmond.

7474 has been working out of Ashington for a good few months, and still does. Don't know how it's only just been removed from the Disposal list.

This Is going to seem odd after my last post. After spending a few weeks on death row, I'm thrilled to announce 1922 is coming back into fleet. Its been fitted with a new gearbox also I noticed 1917 sat on the MOT prep bays.. I have a feeling we haven't seen the last of the Cadets just yet.

Whitby need newer Solos for the Park & Ride contract - Jesmond are meant to be losing 2870/1 for the P1 board plus one of Darlington’s 11-regs is to move as a spare, was originally mentioned as 2869.

I believe the Solos from Stockton will be heading to Yorkshire Tiger rather than the main Yorkshire fleet - given the contract wins in the Bradford area.

Indeedo, just my general wording there.
Are these Yorkshire E200s in the new livery? If so, one has just passed on the 64 route. Didn't see if it was an actual 64.
