Really hope it's actually in service tomorrow, and if it does, then it doesn't get taken out of service. It's also not tracking on the app.
Noticed it wasn’t tracking earlier as 5383 which can be seen behind it was showing up but 9080 wasn’t.

I wouldn't bank on the racks at Durham being filled. They seem to disappear far too quickly there for some reason, even if they're full on a morning.

I guess it's got something to do with the youths loitering near the entrance in the afternoon as I sometimes see them scattered down the road

Tracked all 8 Versas on the 58. No sign of 9080. Why can't the demonstrators be out for once, especially one that only has only untill Sunday (I think) before it leaves.

EDIT: It's not 5383. It's an untrackable board departed at 12.53 from New Bridge St

Possibly the driver. Possibly the very tight scheduling and not allowing much slack at all.
Mind, why they went up on to the A1 at Picktree when the traffic was backed up like that and didn't continue on up the A183, is open for debate.

Maybe they feel sorry for Arriva because they probably can't afford to replace them

Hardlys, it's a bit like School buses, if the bus was owned by Gateshead Central Taxis opposed to Go North East would the bus still get litter thrown all over...
Looking at photos of Fares Promotion Bus 3999, it 's Registration is 574 CPT, which according to Fleet List is allocated to 3965.
Fleet List states 3999 is Registration Mark X594 EGK.
I'm guessing Fleet List has not been updated?

It was intended as more of a joke, but given they have less money, they would likely have worse buses in worse condition, so I would guess the children would be more likely to just dump the rubbish on the floor rather than take it with them.

So to double check, there isn’t anywhere to get timetables in Sunderland at the weekend?
I was planning on touring around picking up the new versions, but therefore must wait until a weekday to do that area.

Most of Consett fleet have the new timetables, also a stack were put out at Stanley bus station today for 6/6a, M6-8 & X30/X31/X32 (chance to be all gone though)

They tend to be on the buses concerned.

X30s were there early in the morning, picked up my copy and martijn & Dan (plus the commercial guy, can’t remember his name) we’re handing out the Ms
I managed to have a ride in 9080 today, I was pleasantly surprised.
To give them credit, it rattles a heck of a lot less than a regular e200. The ride for the most part is smooth, but it does struggle over small imperfections. At higher speeds, the motor is just as loud as a well defined diesel engine, but at low speeds it's remarkably quiet. It also doesn't seem to sway as much as the Yutong going round corners, that thing felt as though the roof was going to fall off.
The seats are also very comfortable, but we know GNE would never spec them. I also really liked the lighting effect on the ceiling.
I never thought I'd say this about an ADL product, but it actually felt high quality, whether or not it stays rattle free is another question!
Out of curiousity, did GNE actually bid for the Tyne tunnel contract or maybe even another company e.g.- SNE

Gateshead Central did, the new route 319 starts tomorrow

Think some versas have moved to riverside from CLS
Interesting to see they've removed the fare calculator from the site. I wonder if it's a permanent removal or just while they update the prices

I noticed that. I think it's just temporary. GNE told me recently return fares will be online to inform customers, as I asked if return fares were being scrapped and they said any changes will be on the website. Some return fares are increasing. I think returns for longer journeys are being replaced with the new better value day tickets.

I wouldn't be surprised if they've hidden it to push people towards the day tickets because there's basically no mention of single or return tickets
