4812 has now finally had its 21/X21 branding removed

Was about to comment that the 64 seems to be running in threes, thanks to lumiere, then a 4th one came past about 3 minutes after the other three.
Took me 45 minutes to get home from the arnison centre, by bus, yesterday afternoon. Only took me 25 minutes to walk there!

Everything is absolutely knackered by it, all of the 7s are between 5-50 minutes late at the minute

Darlington currently have a VDL pulsar on loan from either Stockton or Redcar as its Frequenta branded, it’s either a 15 or 63 branded on and is currently on the 08:50 service 8 from Darlington running about 20 minutes late

Jesmond Pulsar 1499 has re-entered service since having it's Euro 6 modifications done. On the 47, sporting silver livery while it awaits vinyls for the route.

Has the seats from 7513 too, as well as other bits and bobs while getting its got service prep'd. Goodness knows why they couldn't source one internally with all the upcoming Yorkshire movements.
Can't see it being a fan of express work.... coming soon to the 35 soon I feel.

Arriva have always been putting the wrong buses on the wrong route hence the fact I had a basic arriva pulsar on the x12 and my phone was dying but an x12 pulsar turns up on a route say the 56 it’s a bit annoying because it shouldn’t be on that route

Route branding has never worked with Arriva
I mean look at Darlington at the minute you have
X26/X27 branded vehicles on the 2
2 branded buses on the X21
X21 branded on the 2s albeit the branding has now been removed for the X21
As long as a bus is in service then people should be happy imagine how many buses would be off road if you could only allocate branded buses to route branded services

In regards to the charging points on the X12 only the Belmont MAX Pulsars have them, these being: 1419/1481 - 1483.

To be fair, it's more with regulating buses and keeping them on time rather than buses being broken down. At least it is at Blyth and Haymarket anyway. Imagine it's the same in Darlington, Durham and Middlesbrough. Personally I'd rather have a bus on time rather than the correct allocation as I know most other people would.
GNE get around it by usually terminating buses short either at the Metro Centre and/or Gateshead which imo is worse from a passenger perspective.

It may look worse, but in reality GNE have so many buses between Newcastle and Gateshead that changing buses to go the extra few stops doesn't take that much time.
I know for Arriva in Durham, it's often not possible to terminate a bus early as most of them come from completely different directions, often sharing only 1 or two stops at most, certainly not an entire interchange. Whereas with GNE, pretty much all southbound services from Newcastle go via Gateshead, with Westbound services going via Metrocentre, so it's relatively easy to change.
I know when the X21 was terminated early at Gateshead, I was able to just catch the X1 to Gateshead and connect with the X21. Granted I have my monthly pass so if you were paying individually for a ticket it may have been more difficult, but even with the very short notice given by GNE over Twitter, it was possible.

Particularly if you're paying for your ticket and when you take in to account the wide variety of stops/terminating points in Newcastle.
Far from ideal.

I've even had drivers in the past stop at my stop to tell me that another service has been cancelled

I still have to disagree. Even in that case, unless your at the bus stop 10 minutes early by the time you get realise you need to get a different bus and get on the bus. The original bus you we're meant to get will have gone from Gateshead anyway so your just waiting there for the 15 minutes or whatever instead. You might aswell wait around and be pissed off but save the bother.

I know what you mean, but at least you're waiting inside at an interchange rather than in the rain.
I'm not disagreeing that they should ditch sub branding, I think they should get rid of Sapphire and Max completely, since they're exactly the same thing. Unless you're doing proper route branding like GNE does, I see no point at all. Especially when the Sapphire brand was introduced as a more 'premium' experience, but soon turned into the regular bad experience that Arriva is known for
Like I said, I think the reason why GNE can get away with having each route branded is purely down to the routes they operate, a lot of the branded services are very frequent so it's not much of a delay if one is cancelled (The 49/49A - every 10 minutes, or Angel 21 - up to every 7 minutes), or run through major towns where it's easy to change buses if they terminate early (Tyne Valley Ten, Red Kite X45/X46/X47).
I have been on many an X21 where we've changed buses at Chester le Street (I think mostly because they're just using the X21 to get buses back to CLS as it's the fastest service)

Yes, you see 63s following each other out of Middlesbrough bus station. You'd think the latest running one would go out the back way and try to catch up time.

This made me chuckle. A while back Me and the other half went to Durham for a beer or 2. Waited 2.5 hours for a 21 to low fell. We thought we were lucky when after an hour a 21 pulled in but he changed it to not in service. I ASKED 4 drivers if they could radio in and see what was happening and got a different excuse as to why they couldn't. I even rang a number i got of the internet and although the woman who answered was very nice she couldn't help. When a bus did turn up it had standees all the way to chester le street. Oh and im still awaiting a replied to my complaint. Those were the days!

1410 has been refurbished & repainted into the new Arriva livery. The seats are the same as on the 308 fleet, and also features USB charging...
