As usual the Chronicle's journalistic standards are top notch and explain absolutely sod all about it!

It did say that the bus came off the road and got stuck in the mud

Oh. So you're allowed to discuss incidents involving buses openly on the forum? In other discussion groups that is heavily frowned upon. It's refreshing to see a place where folk can discuss topics freely without unnecessary heavy-handed moderation.

Buses don't just come off the road though, were they avoiding a small child, did a car come into their lane and they swerved to avoid them, or did the driver just fancy parking up?
I'd expect a news article to have a bit more depth than 'bus came off road and got stuck in mud'

Other than to save face of a company, why would discussing 'operational incidents', as they like to call them, be frowned upon?

Incidents like that require a thorough investigation which includes speaking to those involved and potentially any witnesses. A news article should not prejudice that investigation, even for the sake of enthusiasts wanting to know the far-end of a fart about everything.

Have you read the Chronicle before? That's never stopped them in the past!

Reading what the Chronicle has written on a subject is a quick way of discounting that option from the range of possibilities .....
I hope the driver is alright
