Couldn't think of anywhere else to put this - BusTimes starting to show scholar contract changes for independents, A-Line, JH, L&G and GCT all winners, at the loss mainly of GNE.
Cooper's have lost the 693 to Jh. How many times are they gonna win and lost that contract
What a shock that Gateshead Central Taxi's have won loads..... that wasn't coming at all

LETS hope they have enough buses

Edit:

Looks like GNE have lost quite a few - no doubt this will trigger more withdrawals
How the world are GCt gonna handle that many. They have what 5 deckers that work

looks like the presidents are going, at least half if not all.

GCT have too many contracts now, they need a,limit put on the amount I'd contracts each operator has and If any operator has above the limit they get some contracts stripped to get to the limit, once they reach the limit they get banned from bidding for all contracts (exept metro replacements, ferry replacements & any other emergency contracts)
Nexus website confirmed that the 18/18A (ran by Stagecoach and GCT previously) operating by Phoenix atm will go to Go North east on a Sunday and evening

19 will stay with Go North east

39 & 135/136 iirc.
Go North East have won the contract for the TB29 (Gateshead - Racecourse Estate) from Gateshead Central Taxis. A home for 729/730 perhaps.

Not Consett operated as far as I'm aware.

According to the download timetable it's still with GCT
Same has happened with the 900 Metro Replacement as that says gne but the timetable says Jh

Ah that's fair thought it might've been worked with the Cathedral rotas somehow.

Stagecoach evening services.

---

For the 19 be interesting to see if NCC, Nexus and GNE could work together to remove the duplicate service which runs 4 minutes in front of the Nexus secured service and offer the full route throughout, heck you could even have return runs in the same time without any extra PVR but not sure there'd be any demand for that but it's better use of the vehicle than running empty.
So what services have GNE Won from Nexus?

Interesting that there is a new Service 84A from next month. First time I'd heard of this when I looked at the timetables on Nexus. Looks like it is to interwork with Service 84 on Evenings, with 84 serving Biddick, and 84A serving Washington Village and Barmston Court. 84A will also serve Harraton hourly.
Stagecoach have won a substantial number of school contracts in South Tyneside. PDFs can now be downloaded from the Stagecoach bus website.
Sunderland appears to have kept the routes it ran last academic year, and has gained the 802 to Whitburn Comp, which might explain the extension of a morning 18 journey to start at Seaburn Morrisons instead of Southwick.
Interestingly, most of the remainder will be operated by Stagecoach in Newcastle, I'd assume Walkergate?

I agree, putting all your eggs into one basket is just a ticking timebomb.

Other organisations do it with vehicle manufacturers, one has recently had an issue with BMW and has had to take most, if not all, of their fleet off the road. Same logic would apply to GCT if something suddenly happened.
Nexus have issued the invitation to tender for bus replacements to cover the major line closure between Pelaw and South Shields. The bus service covers the period 12/9/22 to 3/12/22 with a minimum requirement of Euro 5 and a capacity of 84.

What will the PVR be?
It'll be Jh as usual

Doubt that, it's easy to run weekends as they have no school work so the fleet is sitting around empty. To get a whole new fleet in and new drivers just to run a contract to then get arid of the same drivers and buses at the end of it since it's all week.

Imagine it'll be given to GNE personally but they'll then sub contract some runs out to the smaller operators where needed.
Possible be the same as during the 14 day metro replacement. Gne and other routes

GNE could do it via 6167-6175

Say 90 min round trip, 12 min frequency = 8 vehicles so 6167-6176
Remember 6177 & 78 will be in the fray by then as well.
(13 Nov 2021, 12:00 pm)Michael wrote [ -> ]What will the PVR be?

On weekdays, 22.

They won’t be keeping buses spare for 10 months ready for this - the winning operator will require a dedicated fleet of buses (at least 25 for a PVR of 22) to be acquired purely for this contract.

GNE could use the presidents before they are sold

True, of course the weekday 'pressure' will coincide with school contracts as well. In addition we don't know where we will be with covid either....
Thinking about it. It would have to be a shared contract. No company could run it for them amount of days. Gne got handed the 14 day metro replacement back in February. Jh and Stanley had to come in to help. Gne don't have the deckers to handle (weekends yes I could understand) but during the week with scholars is a bit impossible

And it is Euro 6 thing comes in at Newcastle which will make it harder.

I think Euro 5 thing will be nearly impossible to do, GNE/ST & JH probs won't have enough not to mention drivers.
