Presumably use Stephenson Street with Howard St and Northumberland Square being permanently closed
There's that new transport hub being done as well. Wonder when that's gonna start work

Do you have any links to that?

There's links to the plan for North Shields

Google: North Shields Transport hub or North Shields regeneration plan
But there isn't any direct link to the Transport hub itself

Looking through both plans. There is two different versions of the bus station

Being in North Shields over the past few weeks. Around where the bus station is to go is what looks like spray paint on the ground and talking to the owner of a cafe near the metro station the council bought all the buildings where it is going. They are going to do Howard Street first then close Iceland down then start work on the bus station

Unless plans have changed for a third time, I don't believe Iceland is planned to close. It's only the co-op which is going and they've already shut down for it.

That's the latest plan I believe.

It's confusing due to 3 different plans of the bus station. Yet what's werid. All shops apart from Iceland have been bought and closed down by the council for the bus station to start. Yet Iceland remains in the same place. It looks so out of place

Not unless the plan is to build round Iceland and keep Iceland slap bang in the middle and the bus station built behind it.

From photo's that's been took of North Shields showing the general area of where rhe bus station will be

Out of the 5 photos of buses shown next to the big building next to the metro station is where the bus station is meant to be

If I'm right the bus station is where the yellow is and always has been. What's changed is now instead of them knocking down the light blue area they're now knocking down the green area instead as it's cheaper since the Metro doesn't run underneath. Don't think it's ever been planned to knock down Costa / Iceland / the old Burger King or McDonalds unit. The back half of the Co-op has been abandoned for years, it used to be one big shop at one point but then they only kept the front half.

Yea looking at the yellow is to be the bus station. Yet there 3 different versions of the transport hub. Which all 3 are to fit in that small space (in yellow) I think the blue part is the part there gonna demolish but the cafe owner says that they bought the building (in Green)

Nah it's definitely the Green that's going now, it's changed quite recently, the Blue was the original plan though.

https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/news/nor...r-19702147 - There's an article here explaining why, it's easier than me explaining but it's due to the Metro tracks.

Unless Nile Street is made two way again though, it's got a massive flaw as the 1 and 306 towards Newcastle won't serve it since they have to take a massive detour around Shields to get out.
So the plan is to build the bus station next to the metro station. God I wonder how this is gonna be for the buses in North Shields itself since most of the roads round Bedford Street and Rudyard Street will have to be closed while the bus station is built
From Wednesday 13 October

There will be some changes to routes, timetables and stopping arrangements for routes which serve North Shields Town Centre due to the closure of Howard Street and Northumberland Square.  Passengers who normally use the stop on Howard Street (41n13 - adjacent to the Library) should instead a new stop on Stephenson Street near the junction with Suez Street.  Passengers who normally use the stops at Northumberland Square (41n04 & 41n16) should instead use stop 41n03 on Albion Road.
Work might be starting soon on the bus station as Metal Fence has been put around the area where the bus station is planned to be

Bus Station?
Wooden fence has been put up around the building next to Rudyard Street
Around the building where the Interchange is planned (next to Rudyard Street) North Tyneside Council have put pictures up of what it will look like

Name has been shown in one of the photos as

North Shields Transport Hub above the bus stands

Can someone tell me what Services go to North Sheilds, as I know 19/11/310/1, does the new Station has 5 platforms do you think they'll all be in use at one time. As the 1 would need 2, and rest 1. So maybe.

Anyone got a timeline on when it would be done for?

Can't find anything. But remember Bedford Street is being closed
All in total that's
1,11,19,310,660N (Go North East)
53,57A (Arriva)
335,333,11 (Gateshead Central Taxis)
11 (Stagecoach)

Also from a photo. It shows (Stand A & B) then (Stand C to E)

1 to Gateshead
1 to Whitley Bay
10 to Jarrow/South Shields
11 to Jarrow/South Shields
11 to Whitley Bay
11 to Wallsend
19 to Ashington
53 to Cramlington
57A to Cramlington
310 to Newcastle
333 to Tynemouth
333 to Ferry
335 to Benton
392 to Wallsend/HMRC Benton
Metro Replacement towards Newcastle/South Gosforth

No idea if the 306 (Newcastle/Tynemouth & Whitley Bay) would be diverted to serve it.

Oh wow, seems that bus station will be quite busy

5 stands in total (if that's what the letter on the stands show)
(17 Nov 2021, 6:57 pm)Keeiajs wrote [ -> ]Oh wow, seems that bus station will be quite busy

I don't know why but I can see it being a bit of a white elephant like Four Lane Ends. There's not really much of a reason to travel to North Shields and the Metro connections there don't make sense for the majority of services since they already pass a metro station or the bus duplicates the Metro or connecting to certain services don't make much sense (310 in particular).

It seems an awful waste of money imo a bit like the Metro Station which was never complete and blew most the budget so the local stations got painted and not a lot more. The bus stops down by B&M and outside the co-op are perfectly fine.
10/11 to South Shields is the same vehicle (it arrive in as one number and depart as the other).
392 AFAIK doesn't go into the lower part of North Shields.

The 306 did start serving Northumberland Square, but probably gone back to its original route through Shields which avoided going into the Town Centre completely.

Also I have a feeling the 1 towards Gateshead won't serve the Transport Hub either as it be too tight on the timetable with the revised routing.

You also have National Express serving North Shields, though I'm not sure if it's still the case since Covid. Quite possibly I might have been one of the last passengers to use NatEx to North Shields on the Friday before the first Lockdown as I think NatEx only ran another week before the services were revised then later suspended.

No. I don't think this still happens
No, NX haven't run Newcastle-Ashington since the first lockdown
I'm guessing when Demolition work and building work starts. I'm guessing roads round the building will be closed
