Or just adding USB's. instead of plugs.
Speaking of ways to charge your phone, I was on a X1 today and the wireless charging in the back of the seats most the things that hold the phone up were smashed off.

I agree, he should make it his top priority to ask as it is a pressing issue. Selling buses on eBay seems to take priority these days.......sadly........LOL.

Some areas obviously don’t deserve nice things
Reminds me when Blackpool Transport started getting their new fleet of E400City double decks, that had tables with chargers in the middle. People started pouring fizzy drinks into them ruining them. So Blackpool Transport just plated them over.

Which bus? Did you report it to the driver or customer services?
I regularly use the X1 and I dont think I've seen a broken holder yet.

Yes everybody seems to think having Dan on here means a direct line to God. Think people need to give their head a shake

I think some people on here think MG and GNE are gods. Dan should feel privileged that he is considered, at the very least, to be a demigod.
All hail the Hypnotoad.

Exactly, imagine thinking Dan is someone important! [emoji1787]

Important yes, but it astounds me that people think every facet of an organisation is in the remit or responsibility of 1 person
One upside of the sockets never working is when you come across things like this, you /probably/ won't get electrocuted!

As a side note, I've had my phone plugged into the seat back USB ports on a B5 for over an hour now and have successfully charged from 11% down to 7%...
Am I charging the bus, or are the chargers just that bad!
Wonder if it's got anything to do with the fact it's only putting out 4.2v, rather than the 4.7-5v I'd expect

Finally found a USB/Plug socket that works on a 56.
Got on 5415 today, a 2015 Wright Streetlite and I thought why not, I'll try the charger and they actually worked, like I tested 4 of them and they all worked. So I wonder are the 2015/2016 Streetlites the ones that the drivers control and whether the chargers are turned on.

Driver's don't control them. They never have, it was a myth, if the interior lights are on, the plugs are on.
I vaguely remember from my time at Arriva that there was a switch to reset the 24V sockets. I don't remember GNE examples having this (although there is a interior battery reset button for the internal electrics and I'm now wondering if that resets the sockets).
Levantes have a button for 24V sockets so these ones are driver controlled and the only ones I can think of off top of my head.

A myth that was also spread by GNE themselves?
Drivers must have some control over them, back when we had the StreetDecks on the X21 I've definitely mentioned the sockets not working to the driver, they did something, and they magically started working.

It's said battery reset button which also resets the sockets. Needs to be done every time the engine is switched off.
I suspect some drivers go for the 'switch every button on' approach to turn on the interior lights in a Streetlite, which will turn the sockets on too.

So if the USBs/Plug sockets dont work is it because the driver hasn't pressed the battery reset button or someone has blown the sockets on the bus.
