Surely the energy given off by the bright pink paint will be enough to charge your phone.

5254 and 5257 are both now at Riverside.

5420 and 5421 also now at Washington, along with Citaro 5285 which will be a shared spare bus for services 4 and 26/50.

5243 and 5246 are the latest ones to transfer to Riverside.
Does this mean we could see a New 26 & 50 Brand?
I'm guessing the planned changes are instead of the 15 plates going to Riverside to fill the gap until the electrics come to be displaced to no doubt Washington. They've gone straight to Washington and they've sent the Euro 6 Omnicity's to stay in service until they're withdrawn instead.

Unlikely given the interworking pattern. Even when the 5 was branded, it was branded on the back of being the "whey-aye 5-0". I'm sure it wouldn't be a bad idea to brand the 50. If it was standalone it might benefit from it but I would think it would be overly complicated to design something which applied to the 50 & 26 equally, when in reality having NSA's and Wi-Fi now is an upgrade in itself.

Coast & Country?

Diluting that brand if you broaden it. To be brutally honest, there's nowhere on the 26 you could define as countryside and the 50 only has the Chester Moor - Arnison that I would count as countryside on route.

Keeping the 50/26 corporate does the job imo. It stands out against Stagecoach in South Shields and Arriva in Durham.

As well as matching the 9/5 with their corporate streetlites too.

Looks like they're being allocated to the 6/12/12A.
Looks to have been a couple Streetlites (or deckers) missing today, as Solos 681/687 appear to have spent the day on the 50/26.

5421 is on the 4 and 5418 looks to be off the road.

Lots of vandalism at the weekend, with a number of Washington buses at Saltmeadows for repair.

It would not surprise me if Stagecoach pull evening services in parts of Sunderland, gangs of youths are constantly targeting busses with missiles every night

I saw 5416 on the 84 earlier this evening. Hopefully the pair being there will alleviate the need to continue running with a Solo, although I note Dan's comment earlier about vandalism.

Still don't understand why people vandalism. It really confusing so much.
What I find funny is back when GNE were on Look North when they pulled out of Houghton Le Spring on a night time. Someone complained that it was ridiculous that they were doing it over a little bit of damage. Only weeks later to find out her son was one of them who damaged a bus window

It wouldn't surprise me either and of course it's normal people that pay the price for it, when they can't get around and about their business using public transport.

It's a problem everywhere and sadly not limited to missiles towards buses. Some areas a lot worse than others. In my village and in Washington, there's also been spates of arson, and in particular street furniture going up a blaze. The Park were donated money for 3 noticeboards.

We know why police presence is at an all-time low, but I'm not convinced that even if the perpetrators were found, they'd receive much more than a slap on the wrists.

Wanna talk about this. If vandalism is so bad during the night. Then why today when I got on the Metro. 4 police were on the Metro. Two on the front carriage and two on the other carriage. Asking people to put masks on

Why Police presence is at a low? We've lost over 20,000 officers in England and Wales since 2010. We've also lost around 23,500 Police staff since that time, which is why so many stations have no front counters, 101 calls go unanswered and so on.

Good to see Police on the Metro for face coverings. Hopefully that can extend to buses. No point having a law if there's no presence to enforce it. It's not about issuing fines, but a visual deterrent and speaking to people tends to work.
