Does this mean the trains due for FGW will be delayed therefore the Virgin Azumas and FTP Express Trains will be delivered earlier than expected?

According to the article, the bi-mode trains will be deployed on the routes that require diesel power.
How that impacts on stock being constructed at Aycliffe, I don't know. Not sure it will have any impact at all on the FTP stock though - that's being assembled in Spain from memory.

Edit. Just remembered that FTP are getting Hitachi stock in addition to the ones mentioned above. Apologies
