If I saw it, I would probs be like what on earth is that and look away not evening seeing the "ads" on the side. 

Its more of a eye sore

Yes, but I don't think it's a good idea to make drivers look away from the road for an extended period?

Purely subjective, of course, I think it looks ok. Not sure I'd say it was distracting though, if a few zigzags cause a motorist to look away from the road for an extended period I'd question their suitability to be behind the wheel in first place.
