I actually don't that this covers the windows and that Arriva have actually made an effort to come up with something different, I expected a purple/silver version of the Journey Marks livery with Jubilee emblem plastered on it.

I'm sure it'd soon lose some of those window vinyls after a few runs through shildon.
Is it just me, or is the flag only on one side, or at least only covering the windows on one side?

It's different on the other side - https://www.facebook.com/arrivanortheast...4109686173

Fair enough. I like the little timeline thing they've put on it.
Don't like the idea of covering windows with contravision or other materials. The whole point of having windows is to see out of them. Ban contravision now.

If they're keeping it on the X1, then surely having the windows covered is a bonus!

a: you don't have to see where you are
b: when some youths inevitably throw a brick at the window, the glass will hold together and not slice you open!

I was thinking of these things of more of a plus on the 5/5A which is also in that cycle, or Red Hall on the 2/2A which it was later allocated to [emoji1]

Needs some stripes.
People who travel on buses, always use stripes.
The stripes might be vertical. Might be horizontal or at some sort of angle.
But there will be stripes.

Don't forget the vinyls over the back window too. Side windows are a big no no, but slapping something over the back to make the rear of the bus gloomy creates boat loads of desire...

OH yeah the back always gets covered.

Was wondering how long it would be for the consultant of desire to give his opinion on this... Feel for me that has had these comments repeated at nauseum since I posted my pic on Thursday [emoji2357]

THANK YOU!

I get why its done, its a good use of space for advertising but does make it look a bit unnecessarily dull

He really is a sad bloke. Big part of the problems with buses lately as it's just a massive PR stunt rather than actually running buses. He's not the only one either.

I'm guessing Arriva have told him to do one at some point and he's crying about it as all he ever does is troll them lately. Seriously unprofessional.

I agree, I didn’t realise he did any Arriva liveries.

all he does is troll, I think i remember when he picked a fight with Aline cos there seat designs on their Versa’s

IIRC he did the original Sapphire livery.

Or at least he was taking credit for it a few years ago when I told Arriva about some mismatched panels on a StreetLite (they were particularly bad) and he picked up on it.

Surely the stripes need to be at a jaunty angle. Just bad design, otherwise. Barf barf.

Nice and professional as always.

You'd hope he'd have more class than to insult another designer's work.

It's a balance between not leaving things to rot, but not going overkill. If Arriva just got that balance right, that would be perfect.

Ashingtons 7553 has also gained the jubilee livery

Not sure which is grammatically correct, but to me "Arriva are proud..." sounds a lot better than his correction. It seems like Arriva are going at that from the point of view of their employees as a collective (though then "we are proud" may have been better?). Regardless, it's petty, and not really how you'd want to get business back...
