Does anyone know if there is still ticket acceptance on the 82/82A since these changes?
Rumour has it that it wasn't a cyber attack. Apparently they tried to update the enthusiasts page with a new fleetlist and it overloaded the servers.
Has the 57 been downgraded to Single Deckers for the every 30 mins frequency because the double deckers weren't busy enough?

Yes, the double-decks weren’t required so back to single-decks. Should be Green Arrows (which are spare from the 96/97).

Tonight I was on the 60 and saw a driver parked up in the loading bay beside Costa, in either 729/730, opposite the termination point of the 65 route at the harbour, so was this a part of the September 2022 changes to start changeovers from Seaham instead of Hetton, as according to bustimes.org 5394 (16:35 from Durham) arrived at the harbour for 17:32, 12 minutes late. Then the trip must have ended and the earliest time on the map for the return journey is 6 minutes later at 17:38 so the most reasonable answer is that the ticket machine was awkward. Still, another reason could be due to a possible driver changeover. And looking at bustimes either the same driver was on the 65 all day or they are doing changeovers at Seaham or Durham with Seaham making the most sense.

Yes that's correct, From today (12th) 65s are doing driver changeover at Byron Place

If drivers are changing over at the terminus could a driver come from Deptford in a StreetLite and start the outbound journey to Durham before the inbound journey has arrived? When it’s running late - as we’ve seen a few times in the case of the 65. If so, may improve reliability.
Xline X15 is only Xlines Monday-Saturday.

Sunday its Venture X15. Since the changes with it not interworking with the 16A

Wouldn’t be surprised, bus times is not worth the paper it’s written on [emoji23]

Wouldn't be surprised if the X15 is the next one to be dropped from X-Lines

Already is on a Sunday as it's allocated Venture Solo SR's.

It seems that GNE went to far and overdone the Xlines brand at consett depot, be the same at deptford with the pointless S&D brand practically almost every bus service even though 1 brand of a route pvr containing 1, mind just boggles, need to start back at basics with corporate colours showing the customer/passenger who runs the service there are boarding instead of looking for a GNE logo, and contracting the running to an independent bus operator.

We went to Lanchester, this morning, and both x15s we passed were venture solos.

They won the contract, but upon learning they wouldn't get something else they gave it up so GNE got it back (JH coaches did the same with another route IIRC).

Makes sense tbh, no one wants to go on a open top early october.

Not without a covered section at the front.

Looking at peoples photos on Flickr recently allocations seem to be all over the shop.
Do we know when things will settle back down or repaints start?

I noticed recently all the cancellations & breakdown tweets just refer to service numbers, there’s no mention of all the silly brand names. Is that to save them time or a sign of things to come?

The season was always due to draw to a close this weekend, it’s not being suspended.

End of the season, see what happens when Xmas approaches for the Santa Bus. Stagecoach also unlikely to have any out much longer

Is there going to be a Santa Bus again this year?
Who runs the 58/57 on Sundays?

As it seems that Riverside must be running a few boards as there has been Loop's, TeamOne GNE on both.

Have the service changes included diverting MOST GNE service down to gateshead high street rather than past the Gloucester pub/gateshead civic? The 29 went that way on Saturday and i saw a x1 turn right past the post office/matalan? I couldnt see any roadworks this morning that could stop services running?

There's a tree/bush that is leaning into road that means you can't get past without whacking the tree or going up curb, so everything that normally goes that way is diverted along the high street until the council pull their finger out

So for a while yet then??!!

Cheers
One thing I noticed is that the last X21 to West Auckland the 16:10 runs off a school route, so I assume thats why its normally an angel.

Really the X21 need more journeys to West Auckland, the last should be the 20:15 similar to the last X10.

I've been saying that for years!

The last direct bus I can get home from Newcastle is ~4pm. It used to be 5pm until they scrapped the ones that stopped at the bottom of Proudfoot Drive.
Heck, the last bus I can even get to Bishop is now 9pm, which is absolutely ridiculous!
