Boro based Siesta Travel have announced this is their last season doing coach holidays to Europe.

Important announcement: 2025 season!

We know that many of you have been waiting for the launch of our 2025 season and we are so sorry to have to disappoint you, sadly, after 45 seasons of providing coach holidays to France and Spain it has been decided that 2024 will be our last season operating our coach shuttle service.

For those of you that have a booking in place for 2024 please do not be concerned, your holiday will still go ahead as planned and for those who had hoped to travel with us in 2025, we sincerely hope you can join us on one of our farewell 2024 trips! Our last departure of the Summer season will be 19th October and we will also run our winter private groups and our Xmas and New Year special.
The Lodge self-catering accommodation for 2025 season will be available to all Siesta Holidays customers via Lifestyle Holidays and a ‘previous Siesta customer’ discount of 10% will apply.

Many factors, mostly outside of our control, have made the coach programme more and more difficult to operate, particularly to the high level of customer care that our loyal customers expect of us. Above inflationary rising costs of fuel and channel crossings, essential to providing our package holidays has also made it more challenging to be able to provide the affordable holidays upon which we have built our reputation.

We would like to take this opportunity of expressing our gratitude to our many thousands of clients who have supported us throughout the years, and particularly those who helped us through the pandemic. The loyalty and support of our clients and staff is amazing and very much appreciated!
I suspect something todo with this.

These new EU border checks will take ages especially with coach loads of people.

The end of an era!

Never done it. But know people who have.

The sadist inside me is wanting to get something booked before it's too late though.

I’m not the greatest flyer but the coach would be hell for me.

I can see why people did it, camaraderie in the bus, no airport stress (believe a lot of their passenger base anre older annd families with kids on the spectrum) and see the world go by. I suppose the train to KGX then Eurostar and onwards is the only option for them now

I know a few who did it back in the 80s and 90s, pre budget airline days it was generally cheaper than flying
Had some great holidays with them as a kid. Sister scared of flying, me with an interest in buses and cheaper for the 'rents, everyone was a winner.

Aye, it was the 80s and 90s when I was aware of people doing it.

Very cost-effective way of getting some sun, sangria and deep vein thrombosis.
