I'd just call them 'Buses' personally. Just design a livery for them using Red and use the Nexus 'B' in harmony with the existing 'Metro', 'Ferry', 'Rail', 'Tunnel' and 'Bike'. Similar to how it works with TFL.
You don't go to London and get the 'Tower Network' or Ireland and get the 'Leprechaun Network'. Sometimes less is better imo.
I think.....

It was late, was getting even later and had a a standing load.
I thought at one time, standing (and pushchairs) was a no-no on the X9 & X10 and any X21's with standing loads in CLS or Gateshead / Low Fell had to go via Birtley!
X9 could easily be brought back (or X10 partially / fully increased) with adequate vehicles sourced, but some route planners believe that Whickham & Dunston need 3bph, despite that corridor running half-hourly pre Nov 2019 using single deckers or at most, 4bph at peak times still using singles! Also defeating the objective of the July 2022 changes minimising the need for remote reliefs in Stanley!

Was on the X10 once post-covid and it there were people having to sit on the stairs.
I can only imagine it's going to be like it most weekends in the lead up to Christmas.

I'd like to say I'm suprised but when it comes to GNE I don't put anything past me. If someone told me a bus driver purposfully crashed into a bunch of parked cars and knocked over a granny, my mind would instantly go to Go North East.
Mod note: I've split the posts about the '£1bn boost to Bus Services in England' into it's own thread, as it's wider than the North East LTP. See that
thread here.

Has anyone managed to complete or feed anything back to the consultation yet?
If not, I'd recommend doing so. These consultations are often notoriously poorly turned out to, so the executive gets to shoe in whatever they want to.
It's important to note that although they're trying to guide everyone down the route of filling in their survey, which contains a couple of closed questions, you're by no means obliged to provide your consultation response in that format. I'd personally encourage people to make a more comprehensive contribution to it by emailing them: haveyoursay@northeast-ca.gov.uk
