The red decker will have probably been ex-GNE 3879. Was stated that it was on loan from Ensign in the fleet news update for that week.

Cheers yes thats the one it was shame as i thought Garnetts were getting a bit of variety back in their fleet like years ago when they had all sorts of Buses/Coaches
Garnetts Coaches have retired Leyland Olympian CUB69Y and Leyland Titan HVX771T, both of which have worked for the company since 1996. They will be departing for Ensign Bus of Purfleet this evening, following their last scholars service. The Titan has been sold for preservation while the Olympian has yet to find a home.

Any idea what has replaced them in the fleet.
Passed a Alexander Bodied 51 reg Decker last night in Bishop with no livery just all Yellow so i wonder if this is a new addition or just been getting a spruce up.

Garnetts have recently gained ex-Dublin B7TLs 01-D-10195/205/208, re-registered LW51 ZNK/ZNL/ZGD, via Ensign so it was likely one of those!

There are 4 in total. Courtesy of Malcolm Garnett.

Garnett's were providing Park & Ride services in Durham last night for the Lumiere Event.

Yep - Milburngate bridge to New College and Sniperly. They had deckers on, but didn't look to be terribly busy.

Sniperly was heaving when I drove in to Durham.
That was at the end of the rain and still relatively early.
At that point, there were still plenty of people in the city centre. So it could have been the lull before the storm.

That storm probably called an end to the evening for a lot of people! There were a couple standing idle and empty on the bridge when we walked across it before the rain hit, though.

We had a tactical tea at the Chester Moor, knowing the rain would subside and thinking we could get into Sniperley and on to a P&R (with a bit of Garnetts to add) once the even opened up to those without tickets.
One look at Sniperley and the number of cars parked there, meant a quick change of plan.
Ended up parking on South Street (with its views of the castle and cathedral) with no bother at all.
Those at Sniperely must have been among the ones who stopped out, cos it was still busy in Durham after 2000.
Saw a Consett bus rammed to the rafters at that time.
Noticed the Garnetts buses stopping between the Milburngate Bridge and the Leazes Bowl stops.

That's why we caught the bus from home, instead of the P&R - husband gets stressed enough finding somewhere to park, sometimes, as it is. Paid for a family ticket and got a pretty much door to door service, even if our local bus stop did sound like it was about to blow away, while we were waiting!

This is for the Flying Scotsman and the Shildon Shed Bash Event. There is also a Park and Ride service from Bishop Auckland College but I am unsure as to who is operating that service.

Says in the discription that they have to sell it purely because of loss of contracts. Presumably on scholars in County Durham. They also have the new volvos for scholars too. Decent bus when it's running
There are several Garnetts double deckers currently parked in the Arriva depot at Ashington. I'm presuming this has something to do with the Blyth Tall Ships event.

Will these be used on Arriva services or a park&ride.
Many operators approach Arriva to store their vehicles in their depots, especially if it's to stop wasted mileage travelling to and from their home depot. Operators who I've observed doing this at Ashington over the years are Phoenix and Glen Valley.
I'm unsure as yet why they're using Ashington depot, but it's possibly for the Tall Ships event.

If they are for the tall ships considering Gne are running the park and ride i wonder if they end up on the 1,2 and x9 during the days of the tall ships
TGM did it at the Jesmond depot when they had metro replacement contracts a while ago
They'll be operating under contract to Arriva on the Park & Ride shuttles
