It is with regret that I post to advise of the sad news that Andrew Tyldsley (busmanT) has died following a short illness. Andrew committed his life to the bus industry and was Head of Commercial at Go North East in the latter years of his career.

Andrew joined the forum in April 2013 and was an increasingly active member in recent years. He was a character and a big facilitator of discussion, not just in respect of Go North East and its operations, but the wider forum.

The forum team expresses its condolences to Andrew's family and friends.

Such sad news especially at this time of year, thoughts are with family, friend and colleagues he worked with at this time.

In the few occasions I spoke to him whether that be a Bus Rally or we just generally bumped into one another out and about he was always kind and a good for a natter about all things buses and even trains.

The last time I seen him was back in June at the Beamish Festival Of Transport and he looked well and in very good spirits, he noted when we were talking the vintage buses weren't coming round as frequently as normal and from speaking to the person in charge they said it was due to a lack of volunteer drivers, Andrew was very keen to help out and I kid you not within an hour he was out and about driving Sunderland Corporations (WBR 248) around and clearly living his best life.

Such sad news I had the pleasure of working with Andrew during my time at GNE and also hjs son Richard at Stagecoach South.
Omg thats awful, R.I.P Andrew
That is such sad news. My thoughts are with Andrew’s family. It is especially difficult losing a loved one at this time of year.
Very sorry to hear this, an accomplished and clearly well respected and well loved man who had a positive impact on the north east bus scene. A very sad loss.

My very best to those who knew and loved him
RIP X
