Need any help with this

My mate has spotted on his way to work a 65 plate plain red Citaro O295 passing Cobalt heading towards Shiremoor. The dest just said "123 Hanover"

He passed it so couldn't see the legals and it wasn't in service. Any idea or update or if anyone knows who's it is
At a guess, one of a batch new to Go-Ahead London Metrobus. Probably being refurbished by Thorntons, Ashington for Carousel Buses.

Always baffles to me why they have the second generation Citaro as a Mercedes Benz O295 Citaro in the UK, yet in Mainland Europe it's known as the Mercedes Benz O530 Citaro C2.
