Put down what models you like , some nostalgic buses put out , and ideas to renovate old routes
For the 50 GNE put out either a Scania Omnicity or a Mylennium Lolyne painted white with poppies , not sure if they sometimes still do it.

The 50 had a strange allocation history.
Early 2000s it was anything spare on the 551 or the X50.
2006-07 was the Last Purchases 06 L94UB Solars
2007-2011 was the Lolyne Tridents or DAF Prestiges
2011-2014 was the Whey Aye Five O Solars
2014-2022 was the Whey Aye Five O/Fleet Livery Scania Omnicitys
2016-Now. Washington took over the Route when it joined the 5 so it was anything thrown onto it but mainly Omnicitys
2021-2022 had a variety of Omnicitys, Streetlites, Voyager Scania Omnidekkas, Long Length Omnidekkas
2022-Now. anything Washington wants to throw out.
As great as the previous allocations were. Its in the greatest phase at the moment because it jumped in vehicle upgrades from the Omnicitys.
When the 558 was ran 100% by Mellor Strata's
Now it's just the Alexander Dennis stuff

Just curious but you think on the Omnicity's?
I know they were getting on a bit, but imo they were some of the best low floor buses, if not the best - I'm struggling for what's better, which have been made. Made light work of some of the express stuff like the X93, X66/X67 and 685 while everything after is getting destroyed on them especially the E200MMC's with Stagecoach.
Ignoring the rattles, they had quite a comfortable interior aswell unlike the spartan Streetlite, in particular.

At first I was never keen on them, especially when you had better sounding vehicles like the B10BLE floating about but once that era of vehicles was coming to its close, I liked the Omnicitys a lot more.
I know the batch is coming up to 20 years since they first came to Go North East but I honestly think they could of lasted little more longer in the company if they were given the Mid Life Citaro refurbishment.
Never been on the N94UB Omnicity but been on plenty of N230UBs.

Aye I get that, see I was always Scania as I was brought up with the Scania N113CRB/L113CRB pretty much and they were just the next vehicle give or take really.
Must admit, controversial maybe, I never liked the B10BLE and I really don't know why. Probably because I preferred a Voith tbf, especially the Commanders and Lowlanders but I'd image something will strongly disagree there. Allison being by the far the worst as they sound like a transit van.

And thats where I'am the opposite to you. Absolutly loved the Allison Super Pointer Darts. With the County Durham area it was you had a lot of the same vehicle with the odd 1 vehicle type floating about. I Mainly grew up on the Allison and ZF Gearboxed vehicles but would have the odd day out where I'd get on the infamous Voith Pink Angel East Lancs Vyking. Durham had its fair share of just all sorts of vehicle sounds.
B & C reg Northern ECW Leyland Olympians - Cummins L10 & Voith
S reg Coastline/GNE Volvo Olympians - Volvo D10A-245 & ZF
P.s....sorry I thought this was all operators, edited my post

Aye see an Allison to me reminds me absolute junk. Whether that's a Metrorider well past it, a Vario full stop, MPD's that were past it, then more recently Solo's which were past it and unreliable as an understatement. It's always been a bit of an Allison graveyard around here.
Don't mind a ZF tbf though, but they're quite rare around here nowadays bar E400's which again are complete sheds. Mind with Arriva that's basically every vehicle locally lately.

Just a shame with ZFs today its not an obvious sound like you'd hear on the Plaxton Prestige or a Smooth B10BLE. Only thing that really remains in the Go North East fleet is the Citaros and they probably don't have that much longer left with them not being CAZ Compliant. So I guess its a ride whilst you can because once their gone it just feels like an end of an era really with the Gearboxes going much quieter and less "ZF'y"

Well ive so a lot of Alexander Dennis stuff and a Mellor Strata like every fortnight

Yeah agreed there, Voith are the same really.
Give it 20 years time and we'll be old farts talking about gearboxes at all, never mind them being quiet. The vast majority of electric vehicles don't have them like they do now.
