I think on the 230, there were getting more passengers on the section between Easington Village and Hartlepool, not much on the Easington to Sunderland section probably due to the Arriva 15 minute frequency on that section and GNE on the later section towards Sunderland, Dalton park is interesting since Arriva 23 from Hartlepool doesn't serve Dalton Park, as the Arriva 24 serves Dalton Park, might pick up passengers from Seaham to Hartlepool.

Looks like the old arrive service number X27, wonder if it serves peterlee bus station, be ashame if it Doesn't.

Im more surprised that GNE hasn't think of extending some of there service 60 from Seaham along the route of the X7 to Peterlee then have the service 60 go down to Hartlepool and have the other service 60's as normal.

Dalton Park is a must as is somewhere before the Galleries (Hetton or Houghton), if only to pick up passengers that would have to get to the Galleries before going to Gateshead on one of their many changes - you have lost any potential passenger pick ups at the Galleries by virtue of a pre-purchased GNE or Nexus ticket

The new 230 seems good, provide a new link from Blackhall and Hartlepool to Dalton Park.

X27 - Has potential too, hopefully will be well used!
Pygall's were using a white Scania K93CRB H930VUA on schools this morning, seen in Peterlee and then again near Station Town.

Volvo B12R BIG8788 was on loan to Franks Coaches on Monday when seen in Newcastle.

I would of had the 15:00 Return Journey put back an Hour to 16:00 and Perhaps had extra In/Out Journey in that 4 Hour Gap in the Timetable and I can't wait to see what they have operating this X27 Service.

So could you of had - 09:30 - 10:30 To MetroCentre
- 15:00 - 16:00 To Thornley

It also looks like Pygalls could be trying to pinch Passengers off the X88 as the X88 to MetroCentre from Washington is at 55 Mins Past Each Hour and at 15 Mins Past Coming Back on the 2 Journeys Pygalls will Operate

I imagine whatever that will be used on the 230.

ohh well I doubt the X27 will even make it to the MetroCentre in that case, it'll probably die climbing the Hill next to the Angel of the North if doesn't die before that.
I would imagine one of the coaches will be used on it. Possibly the Astrobel (BIG8788) if it proves popular. I still reckon its starting way too late for anyone to know about it, sadly.

How interesting, the new 230 will be good idea. Local independents should try to creat unique links. Easington-New Seham-Ryhope-Sunderland is dominated too much by 23/24/61/60/39/42 all joining along the route, it's never going to get that many passengers really. I can't see why Seaham Spectrum Business Park is used a terminus surely the extra few minutes going down to Seaham Interchange would of been better? Creating links to sea front/town centre?

I think you'll find that it is actually terminating at Byron Place, see here

Oh strange registration then. It appears to be rather unusually looping around Seaham town centre, will give people access to the medical centre etc. though. Another bus between Seaham-Dalton Park will be welcomed, wonder if they beat GNE's fares? £1.75 single I do believe. I hope the route does well.

Anyone know if this is commercially ran?

I would assume so yes. No reason why DCC or Nexus would pay for such service.
(20 Nov 2013, 5:03 pm)aureolin wrote [ -> ]Anyone know if this is commercially ran?

It would usually say 'secured by xxxxxx' on the bottom of the timetable, but it just says 'Operated by Pygalls Coaches', so it definitely looks like it's commercial.
New at Pygalls is Jonckheere CN09JCJ, seen here in Middlesbrough yesterday.

Pygall's Coaches have recently won a new scholar contract from Nexus, which was previously operated by Go North East. This - like a lot of scholar contracts - has had a frequent change of operators in recent months, for not so long ago, it was operated by Kingsley's Coaches (utilising an ex-Lothian Trident).
Scholar service 422 runs between Broadway Junior School and The Hasting's Hill in Sunderland, and today F114TML saw use.

When does the new 230 start? I understand some timetables in Easington may have been replaced to show the new X27 metro Centre service are these starting the same week?

They both start on either the 11th or 12th of December Smile
More new vehicles at Pygalls as expected, this time in the form of YJ55BJE, an ex-First Cymru Optare Tempo.
