January 2024 Go North East Photograph by With the allocation of service X21 being revised to 8x Wright StreetDeck vehicles in the light green variant of "X-lines" branding; this vehicle has transferred from Riverside Depot to Sunderland, for use on service X20, which is being reinstated from Sunday 28 January 2024 in partnership with Durham County Council and Nexus, using Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP) funding.

August 2020 Go North East This vehicle has been repainted into the blue variant of the "X-lines" livery, at Bus & Coach World, Blackburn. It has now returned to Saltmeadows Road to receive "X-lines" branding, prior to returning to service at Chester-le-Street.
July 2020 Go North East Photograph by This vehicle has been taken out of service at Riverside Depot, to undergo preparation for service on its new tenure on the X21 service from Chester-le-Street Depot, which includes a repaint at Bus & Coach World, Blackburn, as well as some mechanical upgrades to be completed.
June 2020 Go North East Photograph by From Monday 1 June 2020, in line with guidance from the government, Go North East's bus services will start returning to what can be considered a 'normal' level of service on weekdays (albeit still reduced on weekends), also with some minor changes which had originally been planned to take place from 17 May 2020. As such, this vehicle has now been reinstated at Riverside.

In order to combat the strong public perception that people who travel on public transport are beneath those on the Social Class hierarchy compared to those who travel by car, and to show car users that they do have some commonality with bus users, each vehicle with "X9|X10" branding will feature a different type of bus user. September 2017 Go North East This vehicle, which carries a midnight blue base livery, has arrived into the Go North East fleet. It is currently being prepared for service at Saltmeadows Road Depot. Representing an investment of over £1.6m, this batch of vehicles have been ordered to upgrade "Tyne Tees Xpress" services X9 and X10. These vehicles feature the latest technology, and are fitted with Volvo's new 5.1 litre D5K-240 engine, which is Euro 6 emission compliant. Internally; they feature Esteban Civic V3 seating complete with leather and soft topper foam for added comfort; four tables on the upper saloon; two-colour Tarabus 'Wood Effect' flooring; and blue accent lighting, which is fitted underneath seats and on the stairwell, to provide extra light on the gangway. Like all new vehicles; they feature Wi-Fi, 'Next Stop' audio-visual announcements and USB connections as standard, though these vehicles also feature three-pin power sockets on the upper saloon tables.
