To allow for modernisation work, there are no Metro trains operating between Benton and North Shields in either direction on Saturday 8th October 2016 and Sunday 9th October 2016. Arriva North East has been awarded with the contract to operate replacement bus service, number 900, which calls at or near to all stations between Four Lane Ends and North Shields. To allow double-deck vehicles to be released for use on this service, this vehicle has transferred from Belmont Depot to Jesmond. It will also be used after that to allow the Scania CN94UB/Scania Omnicity vehicles which are allocated to service 685 at Jesmond to be repainted, as part of a scheme to re-launch the service with a new brand identity in partnership with Stagecoach: "Cross Pennine Connection".
September 2016
Arriva North East
With roadworks having been completed in Durham City Centre, services are reverting back to their usual timetables and hence there has been a PVR reduction at Belmont Depot. As such, this vehicle has moved from Belmont to Belmont (Reserve).
