Arriva North East has teamed up with Stagecoach, Northumberland County Council and Cumbria County Council to bring customers a brand new and improved 685 service between Newcastle, Corbridge, Hexham, Haltwhistle, Brampton and Carlisle. As part of the improvements to service 685; a new brand (Cross Pennine) has been designed by Best Impressions, which this vehicle has now gained following repaint. It has also been refurbished internally with the leather seats seats featuring the Cross Pennine logo, and it has also been fitted with free customer Wi-Fi as well as USB power sockets.

In order to remove the branded spare vehicle from Belmont's fleet allocation and to aid flexibility of allocations to "Sapphire" specification services at the depot, this vehicle has had its sub-branding for service 6 stripped.

This vehicle has been repainted into Arriva's new corporate livery. The company's new corporate identity, which includes a new logo and brighter colours, will be applied across the group in a phased introduction. This vehicle has transferred from Jesmond Depot to Belmont, on temporary loan, whilst similar 7493 (LF02 PRZ) undergoes repairs.

This vehicle has moved from Jesmond (Under Repair) to Jesmond, having returned to service after being refurbished and repainted to "MAX" specification.
