Following the end of the summer peak vehicle requirement in Whitby; this vehicle has transferred from Redcar Depot to Belmont, enabling the release of single-decks to Stockton for an enhanced peak vehicle requirement at Stockton for Christmas duplicate runs.

Following the end of the enhanced summer service on "MAX" service X93, this vehicle has transferred from Redcar Depot to Belmont. At Belmont; this vehicle should be allocated to service 43, displacing one of the VDL SB200/Wright Pulsar 2 vehicles currently allocated to Stockton Depot.
April 2017 Arriva North East
This vehicle has transferred from Belmont Depot to Redcar, in order to operate "MAX" service X93. Service X93 operates an enhanced summer service from 9th April until 29th October 2017, inclusive, with more journeys from Middlesbrough to Whitby on a morning peak and a half-hourly service between Scarborough and Whitby during the day.

As part of Nexus' £350m Metro 'all change' modernisation programme, there are no trains running between Tynemouth and Shiremoor in either direction from 19th March until 2nd April, to allow for track replacement work. 8.7 kilometres of 50-year-old-tracks and track beds between Tynemouth and Shiremoor are being replaced so that the new track will last 50 years more. This vehicle has entered service at Jesmond Depot, for use on the Metro Replacement bus service.

Following the loss of the 159 service to Abellio in November 2015; this vehicle, which was previously in the fleet of Arriva London as fleet number VLA154, has been released for cascade and has been acquired by Arriva North East. It is currently undergoing preparation for service within the Arriva North East fleet, and is being repainted and refurbished to "MAX" specification.

To provide the depot with an additional vehicle whilst their VDL Pulsars are undergoing repaint, this vehicle has transferred from Stockton Depot to Redcar.

This vehicle has received "MAX" branding, with sub-branding for service 308 (Blyth - Whitley Bay - Coast Road - Newcastle). The combined 'up to every 7 minute' frequency with the "MAX" 306 service is promoted in the branding.

Following the arrival of Dennis Trident 2/Alexander Enviro 400 7538 (NK15 DZP) at Darlington Depot, this vehicle has been released for cascade and has transferred to Jesmond Depot. Its sub-branding for service 7 has been removed, with this vehicle acting as a spare vehicle for "Sapphire" services 43/44/45, which have recently been upgraded primarily using the recently displaced former... see more

Ahead of the "Frequenta" brand being launched on service 63 at Redcar, this vehicle has been repainted into Arriva's corporate livery, minus the cowhorn. It has also been fitted with a 'Next Stop' audio-visual announcement system, as part of the "Frequenta" upgrade.
