With this batch of buses having been officially unveiled at Ashington Leisure Centre by local MP Ian Lavery on July 21st 2017, this vehicle has now entered service at Ashington Depot.

This vehicle has received "Sapphire" branding, with sub-branding for services X21/X22 (Newbiggin - Ashington - Newcastle). This batch of vehicles is the first in the region to receive the new "Sapphire" branding, which is currently being rolled out across the Arriva UK Group.

Presently unbranded; this vehicle has entered service at Jesmond Depot, on Metro Replacement service 900. To allow for work to be undertaken between Shiremoor and Regent Centre, Arriva North East has been awarded with a contract to operate Metro Replacement service 900 between these two stations. The work forms part of the £350m Metro: all change modernisation programme.

This vehicle, which carries a two-tone blue base livery, has arrived into the Arriva North East fleet. It is currently being prepared for service at Ashington Depot. Representing an investment of approximately £2.9m, this batch of vehicles have been ordered to replace the older ADL Enviro400s currently allocated to "Sapphire" services X21/X22 (Newbiggin - Ashington - Newcastle). Internally; they feature Esteban Civic V3 seating complete with e-leather, free Wi-Fi, 'Next Stop' audio-visual announcements and USB charging points.
