Following the cascade of Scania CN230UB/Scania Omnicity 5251 (NK56 KHX) from Percy Main Depot to Stanley, this vehicle has been withdrawn from service. The Dennis Trident was once a very common vehicle in Go North East's fleet, though the withdrawal of this vehicle marks the elimination of the vehicle type from Go North East's fleet, as it was the final example of the type to remain in service with the company.

In order to cover for Scania CN230UB/Scania Omnicity 5248 (NK56 KHU) which has sustained severe fire damage, this vehicle has been retained in service at Stanley Depot having originally been planned for withdrawal.

Following the end of the two-phase Major Line Closure taking place between Monday 31st July and Saturday 2nd September 2017 to allow for work at Northumberland Park station and track and bridge renewal work which forms part of the £350m Metro: all change modernisation programme, this vehicle has returned to service at Stanley Depot.

To provide Riverside Depot with extra low-floor double-deck vehicles for the duration of the Metro Replacement contract, this vehicle has transferred from Stanley Depot to Riverside, in exchange for a step-entrance Volvo Olympian from Riverside. A two-phase Major Line Closure will take place between Monday 31st July and Saturday 2nd September 2017 to allow for work at Northumberland Park station and track and bridge renewal work which forms part of the £350m Metro: all change modernisation programme.

To assist in the coverage of extra vehicle requirements at Percy Main for Cruise Ships shuttle services in operation on 3rd August 2017; this vehicle has transferred from Stanley Depot to Percy Main, on temporary loan. It will be allocated to Percy Main's normal commercial services, in order to release a single-deck vehicle for the Cruise Ships shuttle services.

Originally added to commemorate the company's centenary year in 2013, this vehicle has had its 'Northern' fleet names stripped. Most vehicles in the fleet which retained these fleet names had them stripped over the summer months ahead of the introduction of a new company corporate livery, but this example wasn't stripped having originally been planned to undergo repaint.
