Vehicle History

January 2018 Go North East Originally intended to be sold on for further use to Ensign Bus Co., Purfleet, this vehicle was returned to Go North East in October 2017 due to faults requiring repair. As these faults were uneconomical to repair, this vehicle has instead been sold for scrap to Alpha Recovery, Weetslade.
October 2017 Go North East Due to not having any power or reverse gear, this vehicle has been returned to Go North East from Ensign Bus Co., Purfleet. Its return to Ensign, or whether it is alternatively sold for scrap, is dependent on how economical it would be to repair these faults and then to put the bus through annual PSV test.
October 2017 Go North East This vehicle has been sold to Ensign Bus Co., Purfleet.
September 2017 Go North East This vehicle has been withdrawn from service at Riverside Depot.
September 2017 Go North East Following the end of the two-phase Major Line Closure taking place between Monday 31st July and Saturday 2nd September 2017 to allow for work at Northumberland Park station and track and bridge renewal work which forms part of the £350m Metro: all change modernisation programme, this vehicle has been retained at Riverside Depot. Though originally expected to be withdrawn from 3rd September 2017; this vehicle will instead be retained until after the Great North Run, to assist in the coverage of extra vehicle requirements for this event (up to an additional 90 buses).
December 2015 Go North East Having previously carried 'Northern' fleet names, this vehicle has been repainted into Go North East's corporate livery.
February 2014 Go North East Photograph by Following the closure of Gateshead and Winlaton depots, this vehicle has been transferred to the brand new Riverside Depot. Riverside Depot replaces the existing depots at Sunderland Road in Gateshead and Winlaton which date back to the days of the tramways.
December 2009 Go North East Photograph by This vehicle has gained "Angel" branding and has entered service at Chester-le-Street Depot.
September 2009 Go North East Previously with Go-Ahead London General as fleet number EVL38, this vehicle has been acquired by Go North East and allocated fleet number 3969. It is currently at Thornton Brothers, Ashington, undergoing a pink repaint and full refurbishment.
