This vehicle has been repainted into a plain pink base livery and has received "Pink Panthers" branding. Starting on Monday 2nd October 2006; Go North East will introduce a great new bus service for shopping and commuting, numbered D4, which this vehicle will be allocated to. This frequent 'shoppers shuttle' is designed to quickly take passengers between Newton Hall, Arnison Centre, and the city centre at value-for-money prices, directly competing against Arriva North East's similar 63/64 services.

Due to high passenger volumes on the Byker ASDA free shuttle bus service, this vehicle has been reinstated to be allocated to this service. This will allow for more adequate social distancing measures on the A1/A2/A3 services.
