This vehicle previously held a temporary reserve role in the fleet at Chester-le-Street Depot following vehicle re-allocations, pending the award of Nexus contracts effective 18th March 2018. It has now returned to full service at Chester-le-Street. Go North East has retained many of the contracts they already operated, with the contracts for services W2 (Whitley Bay - Brierdene) and K3 (Forest Hall - Four Lane Ends - Freeman Hospital) also being awarded to Go North East. Pending delivery of new minibus vehicles in June; there is a current shortage of minibus vehicles to operate these contracts, and a number of temporary service and vehicle allocations need to take place.

Following the cascade of Optare Versa V1110/Optare 8298 (NK09 FUW) to Chester-le-Street, this vehicle has entered a reserve role in the fleet at Chester-le-Street. Although originally earmarked for withdrawal; Go North East has been awarded a number of minibus contracts, effective 18th March 2018, meaning that this vehicle needs to be temporarily retained to allow for other cascades, pending delivery of new minibuses for the Durham Cathedral Bus 40/40A/40B services and the Chester-le-Street Town Services.
