Ahead of the upcoming service changes and consequent re-allocations on Sunday 19 May which will see the replacement of this vehicle in the fleet at Percy Main, this vehicle has been withdrawn from service. Both 4979 (NK54 NUJ) and 4982 (NK54 NUP) are in line to be transferred to Go North West in the Driver Training fleet, following fitment of an analogue tachograph and conversion to a Driver Training vehicle at Thornton Brothers, Ashington.

Following the loss of the 333 and K3 Nexus contracts from 24 March 2019, two minibuses have been released to operate service 19. In turn, this has released this vehicle to become a float/reserve vehicle in the fleet at Percy Main. This vehicle should be allocated to a Nexus Miscellaneous Works contract board, releasing a fleet livery Scania CN230UB/Scania Omnicity to operate one of three early-return boards on the "Coaster" 1 and "Cobalt Clipper" 309/310 services. These temporary allocations are as a result of the "Cobalt Clipper" branded Wright Eclipse Gemini 2 bodied Volvo B9TLs undergoing repaint and internal refurbishment at Bus & Coach World, Blackburn.
