Vehicle History

June 2020 Go North East From Monday 1 June 2020, in line with guidance from the government, Go North East's bus services will start returning to what can be considered a 'normal' level of service on weekdays (albeit still reduced on weekends), also with some minor changes which had originally been planned to take place from 17 May 2020. As such, this vehicle has now been re-licensed, but remains out of service.
April 2020 Go North East Following completion of all required vehicle re-allocations; this vehicle has been temporarily withdrawn from service due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and has been officially delicensed (SORN'd), enabling Go North East to obtain a tax refund.
September 2019 Go North East Photograph by Following the end of the temporary shuttle bus in operation at Bournmoor, this vehicle has transferred from Washington Depot to Percy Main, where it will displace a double-deck vehicle to Riverside, in order to replace 3976 in the fleet at Riverside, prematurely withdrawn due to being involved in a low-bridge strike incident.
September 2019 Go North East Photograph by To allow the displacement of Optare Solo 724 from the Bournmoor Shuttle Bus, with it now being required to operate the newly-awarded closed NHS staff shuttle contract running between the RVI and Freeman Hospital, this vehicle has transferred from Saltmeadows Road Depot to Washington, in order to operate this shuttle bus.
April 2019 Go North East Photograph by Presently retaining "Toon Link" branding pending award of the Nexus Miscellaneous Contracts effective September 2019, this vehicle has transferred from Stanley Depot to Riverside, in order to operate school and works contracts. This has in turn allowed for the ex-Go South Coast Mercedes Citaros previously allocated to the school and works contracts to transfer to Hownsgill to operate service X30 (Stanley - Newcastle).
April 2019 Go North East Upcoming vehicle transfers will see this vehicle re-allocated to Nexus Miscellaneous Works contracts. As such; this vehicle has had its free Wi-Fi equipment removed, in order to allow it to be installed onto another vehicle.
October 2017 Go North East In order to improve the customer experience on "Toon Link" services 6, X30/X31 and X70/X71, which all provide links between Newcastle, Stanley and Consett, this vehicle has been fitted with free customer Wi-Fi.
May 2017 Go North East Having previously carried sub-branding for services 12/12A (Newcastle - Winlaton); this vehicle has had these vinyls stripped and new vinyls added, sporting the taglines "For city centre shops and leisure" and "Frequent buses to Newcastle".
April 2017 Go North East With "Toon Link" service 12 being upgraded with the former "Blaydon Racers" branded Mercedes Citaro 0530N/Mercedes Citaro vehicles, now internally refurbished and repainted into a plain black base livery, this vehicle has transferred from Riverside Depot to Stanley. Upcoming service changes in May will see the "Toon Link" brand encompass services 6, X30/X31 and X70/X71 with a mixed allocation of Scania OmniCitys and Scania OmniDekkas (the latter of which are currently undergoing repaint). This vehicle's sub-branding for service 12 is planned to be stripped and replaced with new branding imminently.
October 2015 Go North East Photograph by Upcoming service changes will see services 31/32 withdrawn and replaced by new services 12/12A, with minor route alterations to provide quicker journeys to Newcastle. such, this vehicle has received sub-branding for services 12/12A (Newcastle - Winlaton), ahead of the service changes later this month.

May 2015 Go North East Following the entry into service of brand new Wright Streetlite DF/Wright Streetlite Micro-Hybrid vehicles on the "Red Kite" 45/46 services at Stanley Depot, this vehicle has been temporarily withdrawn from service and placed in storage at Saltmeadows Road Depot.
