This vehicle has returned to Go North East following internal refurbishment and repaint into a plain blue base livery. It is currently undergoing preparation for service at Saltmeadows Road Depot prior to allocation to Riverside Depot. Though intended to be repainted black for "The Blaydon Racer" services 12/12A, Bus & Coach World mistakenly repainted this bus blue instead. As such, to prevent the need for the bus to spend more time out of service, 5282 (NK07 KPT) will instead be repainted black.

In January 2014; Go North East fitted a white LED destination display to Riverside-based Optare Versa V1170/Optare 5390 (NL63 YAY), as a trial to compare against the standard amber displays. Go North East has now fitted a larger display, with more LEDs, to this vehicle, as a trial to compare against 5390's white 144x19 display. It is a 160x24 display, which is the same size used in the rear of the company's "indiGo" branded Optare Solo SRs delivered in 2015, and similar to the displays used in sister Go-Ahead operating company Brighton & Hove's "Coaster" branded Wright StreetDecks.
