From Monday 1 June 2020, in line with guidance from the government, Go North East's bus services will start returning to what can be considered a 'normal' level of service on weekdays (albeit still reduced on weekends), also with some minor changes which had originally been planned to take place from 17 May 2020. As such, this vehicle has now been reinstated at Washington.

Following completion of all required vehicle re-allocations; this vehicle has been temporarily withdrawn from service due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and has been officially delicensed (SORN'd), enabling Go North East to obtain a tax refund.

This vehicle has entered service at Washington Depot on the new ?Connections4? service 4 (Houghton-le-Spring - Heworth).

Ahead of its entry into service, this vehicle has gained ?Connections4? branding, with sub-branding for service 4 (Heworth - Houghton-le-Spring). ?Connections4? is the new brand name for service 4, which directly replaces the ?MetroLINK? brand name for service M1, with no changes to the existing route or timetable. It promotes the connections available on the service ?for? Heworth Interchange, Concord, Washington Galleries, Shiney Row and Houghton-le-Spring.

This vehicle, which carries a midnight blue base livery, has arrived into the Go North East fleet. It is currently being prepared for service at Saltmeadows Road Depot. Representing an investment of approximately £2,000,000, Go North East has ordered a batch of eleven Euro 5 Mercedes Citaro heavy-weight single-deckers to be launched on ?MetroLINK? service M1 at Washington Depot. These brand new buses feature high-backed seating, free on-board passenger Wi-Fi, and ?Next Stop? audio-visual announcements.

This vehicle has been stripped of "Cobalt Clipper" branding and has received a promotional livery for Go North East's "Big Days Out" campaign. This vehicle has entered service at Chester-le-Street Depot on "Angel" service 21 (Newcastle - Chester-le-Street - Durham).
October 2019 Go North East
This vehicle has received branding for "X-lines" service X21. X-lines is a new concept introduced by Go North East to set apart limited-stop routes from local bus services, with the buses featuring an eye-catching metallic gold base livery. Each group of services will feature a different colour rear, with plum used on services X6/X7 and X20 earlier in the year, and blue used for the X21.... see more

Following the entry into service of the new Optare Solo SR M890 Hybrid/Optare vehicles at Deptford on "Sunderland Connect" service 700, this vehicle has transferred from Deptford Depot to Saltmeadows Road. It has lost its 'Hybrid countdown' vinyl on the nearside and offside, and gained "Nexus" branding.
