Following the entry into service of new vehicles on "Angel" service 21, it is planned for both Volvo B7TL/Wright Eclipse Gemini 3962 (JCN 822) and 3965 (574 CPT) to be repainted into Go North East's corporate livery and remain at Chester-le-Street and be allocated to the two double-deck boards on services 13/14/X25, to provide a higher quality vehicle on these services following the upgrade of the single-deck boards to higher-quality Scania L94UB/Wright Solar vehicles late last year. As such, this vehicle has consequently been withdrawn from service at Chester-le-Street Depot.

As scholars service 28S does not operate during the school holidays, a single-deck vehicle has been released from this board to be allocated to the double-deck board that this vehicle would ordinarily be allocated to. As such; this vehicle has been released for cascade over the summer, and it has temporarily transferred from Chester-le-Street Depot to Riverside, to operate Metro Replacement service 900. Following the closure of Gateshead and Winlaton depots, this vehicle has been transferred to the brand new Riverside Depot. Riverside Depot replaces the existing depots at Sunderland Road in Gateshead and Winlaton which date back to the days of the tramways.
